    LOST Wednesday 11/30/05 {Spoilers for this ep and previous eps ONLY!}

    I think its funny that the ourangutang named "joop" is referred to as experiment 626. That's also the numerical designation of Stich in Disney's Lilo and Stich movie. If you've never seen it, its not a bad little cartoon about an experimental creature bred ONLY FOR DESTRUCTION...who finds a...

    Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince point of discussion (Spoilers)

    Actually, Dumbledore being dead is COMPLETELY within story telling tradition going right back to mythology. The wise old wizard/mentor almost always dies/leaves so the hero can grow as a character. Look at Merlin and Arthur, Obiwan and Luke, Phoenix and Achilles (although I'm a little fuzzy on...

    Has anyone read Eragon?

    Its not a bad book. However, if you're at all familiar with sci-fi and fantasy, you are going to come away feeling like someone just puked up a lot of old story lines. I recognized Star Wars and Sword of Shannara IMMEDIATELY. Pern and T H White crept in as well as a few others. It felt like a...

    So How Does Your Group Distribute Treasure?

    Our group uses what we call Treasure Credits. It goes like this: 1. the total gold we could get from selling all magic items is divided among the players. (generally, half the cost of making the item) 2. These "credits" can only be used to divide the spoils of war. 3. The party memebers then...

    Louisville, KY Game Stores

    Here is the scoop on that place near the Village 8: The place is called Spectacular Collectables. It is located in the same building (at the North end from village 8), in the same hallway as the Ice Cream Factory if you have ever been there. It even has a gaming room which can be "signed out."...

    Anyone buy this new Drow mappy thingy?

    If you are speaking about "Fane of the Drow," one of the regulars in our group picked it up. We ran a quick pick up game with it and had some real fun. I don't know if its the kind of thing to work into a regular campaign, but it provided 4 hours of gaming fun for us.

    Louisville, KY Game Stores

    Comicbook World and the Book and Music Exchange both have big game followings. Soemthing-to-do has hosted minis tournaments. There is also a game store in the Dupont Circle but its name escapes me at the moment. Its fairly new but I've heard some good things about it. I can't give any first hand...
