Except the watermarking is the very technology (at least from the info in the court cases) that allowed WotC to identify the pirated PDFs. So the single pixel watermark could be embedded with the consumers ID. But, this presupposes that the old time fuddy duddy executives of Hasbro would go for...

You can always do what Paizo does. They use a tiered subscription model and allow customers to download watermarked PDFs as soon as their books ship.

Ugh... I hate April Fools Day

Already placed my order for 2 sets. They are not so expensive that I feel bad about tossing this money out in the hopes for a good product. If they are even close to as good as tact-tiles, I'll buy another couple of sets. As soon as I get the Battlegraph boards, I'll post a review.

I saw a preview last night. Comic fans are going to love it. Non-comic fans.. well... I think it's going to be a toss up on them. Personally, I think it's going to do Incredible Hulk numbers but no where near Iron Man or Dark Knight.

Our group has been using the Beta rules with the first pathfinder Adventure Path with VERY little adjustment to creatures. The only thing you really need to worry about is the Combat Maneuver Bonus.

Yeah, the Paizo guys can clarify this if they wish, but the way I saw it fall out was the LACK of the GSL (or, at the time, the update/replacement of the OGL). WotC blew the updated OGL by months, tried to get companies to pony up cash to see it early and then blew THAT deadline, then continued...

No way someone at Hasbro level corporation is going to go out on a limb and give early specifics on a LEGAL document. Sorry Mark.... your gonna have to wait... and wait... and wait... :erm:

And a deadline would only be antagonistic. WotC has no need to respond to such action. If you think it's best for your site or company, then switch to another system or skim the edge of a lawsuit using the OGL.

I don't have our groups set at the moment, but I seem to remember the back side of the tiles having the patent number... or maybe it was on the information sheet included....

There is a GSL (http://www.wizards.com/d20/files/GSL_20080617.pdf) but it is pretty restrictive and doesn't give any guidance or insight for fan created content. An update was promised back in August but then the WotC staff cuts came and we haven't seen anything since.

Depends on what the eventual license is or whether WotC/Hasbro decides to go after 4e_3PP companies/fan sites. Besides that, WotC SAID it was coming out with a revised GSL. Good faith on THEIR part demands they release that update or at the very least produce a statement to give some sort of...

So... how big of a pass DO we give WotC for this wait?
