How often are you visiting the WoTC boards?

The only time I end up on the WotC boards is when I see someone here at ENWorld posting about something interesting over there. I still drop by the main WotC page every day just to see if anything 3.5 related is available...and for the minis previews. That's about it.

    Is anyone sticking with 3.5?

We aren't going to 4e in our group. We are in the middle of several campaigns that will take us well into 2010 so we have no reason to switch. Personally, I'll try the demos on World WIde Game day and at GenCon (assuming WotC goes).

    Gen con and WOC

I can't say for certain, but I don't believe so. What I understand is that there was an auction at Celebration 4 that was supposed to be a general fund raiser for Make-a-wish....not anything specific. On a side note, starwars.com sells the R2-KT action figure (a pink R2 unit) with the proceeds...

    Gen con and WOC

Excellent point, KC. If that is the case (and it does sound good), then this debt has nothing to do with Hasbro preventing WotC from attending GenCon 2008 and we are back to the "Hasbro does do business with companies in bankruptcy" theory.

    Gen con and WOC

By my calaculation from the PACER forms, GenCon LLC owes $3,500,470.70 as of the Feb. 15, 2008 filing date. That is pretty substantial although not unheard of given they began bankruptcy proceedings in December (per Adkinson's Corporate Resolution of 12/21/2007). It is an interesting read of who...

    Gencon website - Horrible!

Try the following site: http://gencon.highprogrammer.com/gencon-indy-2008.cgi it takes the daily updates from the downloadable event catqalog: http://community.gencon.com/files/ and makes it easily searchable.

I'd love to, but it's also too far from me.

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

Yup...I'll say it...YOU benefited....most probably. By letting other companies work on the less profitable aspects, WotC was free to devote all their time and effort to the core stuff. If someone complained that Faerun was getting too much attention, WotC could say, "This is where our focus is...

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

OK...just slogged through 7 pages of this topic. Wow...look, I don't think there is any reason to start screaming about the falling sky, but the topic is worth a good discussion. One point I think is getting and that is the reason the OGL was started in the first place. Ryan Dancey, I believe...

Who Here is Getting Dragon Roots?

As I posted in the "Dragonroot Price" thread, I'll be putting off my purchasing of Dragonroot. The price point is a bit high at the moment even for the PDF which costs MORE than the individual magazine (not counting shipping).

    Dragon Roots Pricing

A Dance with Dragons blurb released

I never thought of Tolkien as British. It wasn't until I'd read the books a few times that I realized he was from England (and dead). I like Tolkien and Martin both, but yeah...the are different. I don' think it fair to compare them. Besides, I think Marin is more like the American Tolstoy. ;)

A Dance with Dragons blurb released

I don't want to pour too much cold water on this notice, but I doubt it's true. GRR Martin posted the following on January 1, 2008 (http://www.georgerrmartin.com/if-update.html): I probably won't update this page again for quite a long while, so let me close by saying once again that when A...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo shipping and customer service

I had one issue of Pathfinder that didn't arrive (Issue 2 or 3...there had been some issues with that one...I think). I sent an email and they included the missing issue in the shipment of the following issue...no big deal. They've always been good to me.

    GenCon vs. DragonCon

I've never been to Dragoncon, so this will be from hearsay. Drragoncon is a more mature con that has a little gaming in it. Gencon is mostly gaming. If you are more into the sights and sounds and not so much into gaming, Dragoncon will be fun. Just don't get too freaked out by the costumes. :)

    D&D 4E 4E Playtesting

Yeah..actually...I am looking for news and information. Because of how little (that is NO) information that has come out, I don't think WotC has actually gotten the "Out of House" playtesting going. The only information we hear is how great 4e is and how bad 3rd edition is and this is all from...

    D&D 4E 4E Playtesting

Jeez...how hard is it to go into a library or university, create a new account on ENWorld, and post? Or just send a PM to somebody else who could post it? Or run through a half-dozen anonymisers and post?

I thought the Gargantuan Orcus was canceled. Or was that just the version that was showcased at GenCon 2007?

Dragon & Dungeon Magazines - the numbers tell the story

I don't know, I find "effectuate" to be a perfectly cromulent word. :p
