Stomping over niches is still a spell issue, not the system of magic issue. If you threw Righteous Might or Divine Power doing the same thing it did in 3.5 into 4e as a daily power(let alone encounter), it would still mess things up.

Spirit shamans are already ridiculously good. They don't need anything special really.

Here's the thing. They now KNOW that 4e style won't work, they lost too many people when they switched. They know people won't switch from 3.x, PF, 1st or 2nd to the 4e system. How many of those 4e people (many of whom played older versions) won't switch back if they fix some of the balance...

My dm does actually target the spell casters if the enemy has a decent intelligence. Also, I've lost many a wizard due to poor planning, bad luck or just simply being outmatched. Dragons are the ones to worry about, not wizards.

I would still disagree. A 10th level wizard with a ring of wizardry 2 will be far more dangerous to an encounter than a fighter getting a sword bumped from +2 total to +4 total bonuses.

Then why seemingly so worked up about 5e? If you don't want to switch...don't. I know lots that never switched from 3 to 4, 1 to 2, etc etc
