Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

That is a good morale and one I strongly take to heart. But an equally good morale is "when in Rome do as Romans do." I don't mean that in its original and most popular sense but that when traveling it can be enriching to try to get some experience living how the locales live. Or, if you are on...

    TTRPG gaming tables

I've considered it, but size is more important than bells and whistles and I don't want to pay the price of a low-end automobile for a table. My "gaming room" is more of a multifunction room. I went for function over form. I found a company in my area selling a bunch of old office furniture on...

Different philosophies concerning Rules Heavy and Rule Light RPGs.

I like diverse gameplay experiences and generally find I can enjoy any game with an enthusiastic GM and fun fellow-players. I'm not sure about more crunch leading to more consistency. Too late and too tired to think through it, but in my experience, overly crunchy games tend to get to a point...

What VTT(s) do you most dislike and why? (Defenders welcome to defend)

What game are you running? First, as DM you should use the VTT you are comfortable with and most enjoy. You'll run better games. Obviously, if this is a hang up your players have then you have to decide whether to compromise or find other players. From a player perspective, I respect the DMs...

What VTT(s) do you most dislike and why? (Defenders welcome to defend)

Same here, as I expressed in the OP. It is usually one or two things to cause me to not select a specific VTT. Often I really like the product but it doesn't work for me in one area. For example, I really like Fantasy Grounds, but when I was in the market for a VTT I just couldn't host games...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Every 2-4 years a game will come out that I really want to play. I'll buy whatever the latest game console is out that best supports it and spend an insane amount of time playing it over a short period of time. Then I turn over the game console to my kids and don't play anything for a couple...

What VTT(s) do you most dislike and why? (Defenders welcome to defend)

Okay, but you are going to be limiting yourself. It reminds me of the Linux folks always kvetching about one software developer or another not supporting Linux. It just doesn't make business sense for most to do so. And with an Internet browser, you can have multiple browsers installed. I avoid...

What VTT(s) do you most dislike and why? (Defenders welcome to defend)

I heard a little bit about this for the short period of time I was following some Roll20 Reddits, but I never grokked what the kerfuffle was about. From what I recall, Roll20 was over aggressive with forum moderation, banning some users for asking questions. That and overall rude treatment of...

Yours may have been the worst, but your still a hero for getting that far!

    What's your VTT of choice?

I think what differentiated Roll20 is that it was entirely in the cloud and you only needed an internet browser. Map Tools, Fantasy Grounds, and d20pro (I'm not familiar with Battlegrounds) all require both the DM and players to install software. Roll20 may not have been the only fully cloud...

What VTT(s) do you most dislike and why? (Defenders welcome to defend)

I didn't try DMing in Roll20 long enough to appreciate the difference. How does it handle the various objects? The only complaint I have with items in Foundry (and actors, scenes, tables...all the objects) is that things can get messy quickly and managing items and other objects in your world...

Dungeons & Dragons Dumps Disclaimers From Book Credits Page

I finally got the new MM and started browsing it last night. The first thing I looked for was the disclaimer in the credits and was a little bummed that there wasn't one. Overall, not a big deal. But I did enjoy them.

    What's your VTT of choice?

I'd have to play around. I'm not sure I would want to try to type such rolls into a chat. I would use macros. I see that there is a Hero System game system for foundry. It'll be interesting to create a world in that system and see how they handled it.

What VTT(s) do you most dislike and why? (Defenders welcome to defend)

A number of VTTs brought up here that I've not played around with. Life's busy at the moment, but I'm interested in trying some of them. I've been hearing a lot about Talespire. I've yet to dive into a 3D VTT (other than playing around with mods for Foundry, which is a rabbit hole of...

    How often do you play?

I just like the immersion it lends. But, to be honest, I probably get 6 hours of gaming in an 8 hour session. It is a time to hang out with friends, so there is time to grab lunch, some chat at the top and at the end. But I feel I get that in 6, 4, or 3 hours. I don't like feeling that we are...
