    Invisibility and Glitterdust: What happens?

I guess I have a hard time understanding how having 'an outline' is exactly the same as being plainly visible in full 3d. In fact doesn't having an outline mean you see the creature in 2d? How would you know that your swing wasn't short? And does this mean that Sneak attacks are still viable...

    Diplomacy and Bartering?

There was no roleplaying, just a quick dice roll. I did say beforehand 'if you screw up' but he thought that because he only missed the roll by 1 (I told him the DC he needed to beat, which was my mistake I think) he complained and said he shouldn't have to pay more, because it wasn't such a...

In-game debates and rules disputes: What do you do about them?

Sounds like a dream group!

In-game debates and rules disputes: What do you do about them?

This is almost EXACTLY what happened in my game. And I congratulate you on your strong minded resolution. You totally deserve the fun you get out of the game now, because it takes a lot of willpower to put up with players like that in the first place, let alone continue to play with them. Good job.

Monster Manual II and III: Both worth getting?

Thanks for the info. I recently signed up with JIGG and got a response already. Can't make it to their group, but I'm sure someone will show up soon.

Monster Manual II and III: Both worth getting?

Wow that's amazing huh. Small world. I know about Yellow Submarine... it's where I get all my minis and paints. I go to the Shinjuku one and the ones in Akihabara and Ikebukuro. I don't buy books from them because they're insanely expensive. I get all my books from Amazon Japan. If you come...

In-game debates and rules disputes: What do you do about them?

A long time running 'issue' I suppose that I've had with past groups is arguing over rules and debating calls during game. I DM a game now and we lost one player primarily over rules disputes. Since then, the game has been *far* more peaceful and much easier on me and also the other players. I...

    Diplomacy and Bartering?

One of my players asked if he could barter for a lower price for a magic item. I said he could, but there was a chance that the price could be higher if he 'screwed up'. Misunderstanding me he said fine (I meant if he didn't beat the traders Diplomacy check) and failed, so I charged him +10%...

    Invisibility and Glitterdust: What happens?

The spell Glitterdust says it 'outlines' invisible things. Does that render invisibile things completely visible and subject to attacks normally? I thought it might mean that there is no longer a need for a spot check, but a 50% concealement miss chance still applies. Anyone agree/disagree? My...

Monster Manual II and III: Both worth getting?

Some good advice here. The Lords of Madness is that the Aberrations book? When I saw just the cover, I had to spend a few moments in quiet contemplation. Then stop myself from grinning evilly and scaring the :):):):) out of anyone looking at me. Fiend Folio is on my Amazon shopping cart...

Monster Manual II and III: Both worth getting?

Nice. I've never heard of them before. I'll look them up. Patryn of Elvenshae, what else do you like about it? And I hate your sig :p

Monster Manual II and III: Both worth getting?

After 3.5 came out, I've been finally able to play with a group I formed here in Tokyo (by the way, if anyone knows of any gamers out here please let me know). I've seen the Erratta and conversion docs for some of the books, and decided that I won't buy any 3.0 books unless they're exceptionally...

Touch attack for Evard's Black Tentacles?

You can't hit Tentacles with anything. They're immune to all attacks and damage and spells of all kinds. :(

Attacking Grappled Creatures: Who gets hit?

Let's take for example a creature like a facehugger from Aliens (come on it's just an example). You have your ally 'hugged' and then pick up your trusty two-handed flaming sword and swing at your friend's head. That is some crazy surgery.

Touch attack for Evard's Black Tentacles?

But with all these, there are saving throws. There's a chance, and that's enough to make a huge huge difference. With Evards, as you can see from that chart, the chances are near impossible for the majority of classes at the same level, with Fighters having the best chance to escape at 34%, and...

Attacking Grappled Creatures: Who gets hit?

No I just didn't know where you saw that melee attacks aren't subject to a random chance of hitting either creature. Ok that's lame. I don't like that rule one bit.

Silence - Broken? & My House Rule

Ok, but you get saves for those, which is the point of this thread ;).

Attacking Grappled Creatures: Who gets hit?

Hmmm... not sure if that's sarcastic or not. But anyway it's gone. Grappling (but attacker is not) Melee:+0;1 Ranged: +0;1,3 I don't understand how this line means you always hit your target in melee. Is this what you're talking about?
