Poll: What is the best Warlock/Wizard implement? Orb/Staff/Rod/Wand?

Am I stacking Cha or Con? It looks like 'Con' from the Star Pact abilities but then Fear and Fire stuff is Cha for the Encounter... omg.

Poll: What is the best Warlock/Wizard implement? Orb/Staff/Rod/Wand?

Can you use a feat to use a staff as an implement as a Warlock? If so I can't see which feat that would be. If someone could answer fairly quick it would be nice I"m rolling up my character now and we're starting in an hour...

Poll: What is the best Warlock/Wizard implement? Orb/Staff/Rod/Wand?

Yeah I haven't seen many with rods/wands either...

    Combat actions before combat?

I was browsing around came across this, and just thought I'd add two cents. First, just because your players are willing or able to describe what they're going to do, as you've mentioned, the PC's themselves are *always* doing this. It simply doesn't need to be stated that they're 'ready'. They...

Poll: What is the best Warlock/Wizard implement? Orb/Staff/Rod/Wand?

So I bought a pretty decent looking Tiefling Warlock/Wizard figure. Finally, the Reaper guys have started to ship PC class type minis with a *CHOICE* of implement/weapon. This particular Tiefling (they call them 'Hellsworn' I think, to avoid TM infringements...) came with: Orb Staff Wand (or...

Open Grave: Constructs were or were not 'alive'?

Thanks for claryfiying. To be honest I thought it would be somewhat common knowledge. I expected I was overlooking something obvious so just pulled the bare essential quotes thinking someone would be able to point it out easily. Seems like it wasn't that straightforward...! Btw, I'm pretty sure...

Prone then Teleport/Move (Slide, Pull) = Still Prone?

Very nice, exactly what I was looking for thank you!

Open Grave: Constructs were or were not 'alive'?

Hmm I wasn't 'rules lawyering' I was trying to figure out, as a DM, why there's this contradiction in the first 10 pages of the book. As I said I think it's a cool concept, even if it's just 'fluff' it's *STORY* worthy which is for me a pretty important part of the game. I think rules lawyerign...

Prone then Teleport/Move (Slide, Pull) = Still Prone?

If you're knocked prone and then use a teleport power, such as the Eladrin Fey Step or the Assassin various shadow walking abilities, are you still prone or can you choose to 'teleport' into an upright position? Is there anything official written on this?

Open Grave: Constructs were or were not 'alive'?

Page 7, 3rd paragraph "(This phenomenon is what makes it possible for creatures that were never alive, such as constructs, to become undead)" Page 9, 3rd paragraph "All undead were once living beings, in that they had a soul. Soulless constructs do not and cannot become undead." So... yeah...

Using Portals : Touch or Step Through?

Hmmm. Ok thanks. Maybe I read it in a module or something. It's bugging me now.

Using Portals : Touch or Step Through?

I seem to remember reading that in order for a creature to use a portal, they merely needed to touch it. Can anyone remember where this is written in the books? Or am I mistaken and it's not the case? The question will come up when characters see a portal and try to poke through to see what...

Do creatures/players always know consequences of their actions?

Cool thanks for the responses. The power that had the immediate interrupt actually said specifically that it wasted the power used before the interrupt took place. I asked about deleting the thread only because before anyone had posted I'd found my answer and didn't want to waste time. But it...

Do creatures/players always know consequences of their actions?

So a creature would know they're marked (-2 to attack) but wouldn't know about a Fighter's Combat Superiority (opportunity attack, and if it hits, stops them moving )? Right? *Off topic. How do you delete a thread you started?

Do creatures/players always know consequences of their actions?

The original question was: Do creatures know if the actions they take have negative consequences? My assasin attacked an Orc, the Orc retaliated with an immediate interrupt and knocked him back and prone, and my assassin lost his encounter power. The answer is on page 57. Above is exactly...

At what point do players know they're fighting Minions?

At what point do players know they're fighting Minions? Is it after they've attacked and taken one down (1 hp)? Do they then know which other minions are on the field? In my games usually the first one drops and then everyone knows which ones are minions. Is there any official ruling on this?

How do you errata your hard copies?

In 3.5 I used to print out and paste the errata directly into my books. It works very well indeed. I just wonder if 4th Ed books would take kindly to the same technique. I haven't tried printing out the errata and matching it up in the books yet. It seems the tables are meant to be used that...

How do you errata your hard copies?

Just wondering how most people are using the errata. At present it looks like 75 pages for all the books, with more to come. That's a hella lotta errata. Has anyone tried printing and then pasting the changes into the books directly? Does it 'fit' right? Or do most people just keep the pages...

Charge - To nearest square? Huh?

Coxy, I love you. Thanks. 5 foot step... omg. 2) Strange thing is, I figured that out a long time ago but 'forgot' somehow how I judged it. The player's argument was 'but I can move back and then move forward, then charge as part of all this movement,' and then I pointed out to him 'you have...
