Judge decides case based on AI-hallucinated case law

The internet tells me to do dumb crap all the time. Is it defective? Should we just pull it as well?

But that’s just it. You’re not providing evidence it’s obviously defective.

Judge decides case based on AI-hallucinated case law

The pharmaceutical company makes far different types of claims about the drug than the ai company is making about the ai. My guess is that Ai's built/trained specifically for a limited domain don't typically do such things. There's also the question of inferring user intent. Sometimes users...

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

Well so far we've established for certain that D&D players handle conflicts across moral lines. I'm fairly certain d&d players/characters typically encounter rising action. There's a bit of an open question about what the phrase 'rising action across a moral line' actually entails. I think my...

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

This example (2nd example) sounds very much like something that could occur in one of my d&d games. It’s a great illustration of what conflict across a moral line is, which is what the example was an answer to. Though I’m not really seeing any rising conflict here. There’s certainly...

Why shouldn’t the moral and tactical collide though? Like fade to black torture of an enemy is a tactical choice, but it’s also a moral choice.

I often find in d&d the expedient choice conflicts with the moral choice. In that sense d&d often features a ton of choices across moral lines.

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

Yes. Initiative is huge. My claim that the Fighters probably still win without initiative wasn’t diminishing the general importance of initiative. It was noting just how far in the lead they were in this scenario.

I don’t see how any of that significantly helps.

Rush Distance? My understanding was that all the champions were Bow users. What wall spell are you proposing the caster uses?

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

Yea. If the casters had some decent defensive items and the martials didn’t have too OP of weapons that may also have changed things.

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

IMO. It says absolutely nothing about the High Level Martial / Caster divide. PvP is not PvE. To get a true comparison he should have had them run a dungeon. On a side note, I think everyone is a bit too focused on the initiative. Even losing initiative I suspect the fighters would have...

Also of importance is it doesn't appear the casters had any prep rounds. There's lots of spells that could have been precast that could have greatly improved their chances. I may also have missed details on magic items.

D&D 5E (2024) The Undead Army Necromancer is not Designable

You may can. I’ve not really explored it. But I’m more talking design and homebrew/3pp and how those things still have turn length and aoe issues making for bad gameplay.

D&D 5E (2024) The Undead Army Necromancer is not Designable

Just so long as the army starts at lower level (1 skeleton/zombie at the least by level 3 at the latest). and increases as I increase in level.

D&D 5E (2024) The Undead Army Necromancer is not Designable

I think if there is a necromancer they should be able to control 10ish minions. Thus, I don’t really think there should be a necromancer due to gameplay issues associated with that. But if you want to design one, that’s what I require.
