    TTRPGS, Blockchains, and NFTs

If you don't have time for the 2+ hours long video linked above, watch this one: . Buying NFTs don't equal buying digital artworks. They equal buying a position in an arbitrary queue to which position something is linked when you buy the position, but it can be replaced later on, and your...

D&D 5E (2014) Why do cities in Faerun have fortified walls?

Unless your walls somehow project a mostly transparent magical dome above the city. Which, in a fantasy setting, may very well happen.

    Star Wars Reboot

1-2-3, even if not top cinematic masterpieces, were actually part of the Skywalker arc, culminating in the redemption of Vader with the help of his son (kind of a reflection / repetition of his younger self), and the consequent final fall* of the symbolic archenemy of the series, at the hands of...

    Star Wars Reboot

I'm not sure what makes Star Wars what it is (Star Wars) if you discard the original movies (which introduced all the major players, relationships etc), really. We'd need to answer that first. What is Star Wars without that information, what can we keep and what must we keep?

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2022

You're right, this should be a fun list. Sorry if my answers came through as unfriendly — I just felt kinda baffled by your intense resistance to accepting digital products as valid items, and actually arguing against them on a digital, virtual platform.

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2022

Do you mean you're incapable of accepting digital products for what they are? Or do the rules set out by @Morrus exclude pdf releases? Where? Physical books are now just a version of the book, not the book, which, in this case, you can already buy. Edit: Note also that even if you preorder the...

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2022

I linked the drivethru page of the pdf. Drivethru is not KS. It's an online store much like Amazon etc. Anyone can register with about a single click or filling out a form (much like in any online shop), and buy it. The general public can already purchase the book digitally. It's out now.

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2022

It's already out ( The One Ring Core Rules - Free League Publishing | The One Ring | DriveThruRPG.com )

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2022

It's already out in pdf ( Orbital Blues: A Space Western RPG - SoulMuppet Publishing | DriveThruRPG.com ), I highly doubt it qualifies any more.

D&D 5E (2014) Don't play "stupid" characters. It is ableist.

As an aside, here's the etymology of "denigrate", FYI: denigrate | Etymology, origin and meaning of denigrate by etymonline

D&D 5E (2014) What do you think they call 5.5e Ultimately?

    Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 5e ;)

Release Neon Blood - OSR/DIY Cyberpunk Roleplaying

Where is this exactly? I'm not really looking for new games to buy now (I already have too many), but I'd take a quick look based on the above description, and hey, who knows.

D&D General D&D's Evolution: Rulings, Rules, and "System Matters"

Absolutely as an aside: the compound word "Kriegsspiel" means wargame, afaik. "Krieg" is "war", "spiel" is game.

Do you remember your first RPG purchase?

I guess my memory will be rather stereotypical: Having tried and loved AD&D 2nd edition (peppered with converted 1e stuff) as a player with a group, I went ahead and bought a copy of the PHB for myself in 1990 (as far as I can remember). A few months later I bought the DMG (also AD&D 2nd ed.)...

D&D General WotC: Novels & Non-5E Lore Are Officially Not Canon

Can't wait for Free League, the publisher of The One Ring 2nd edition to declare that whatever came before their rpg is no longer canon, JRR Tolkien's work included (but it remains a great inspiration!) Will they do it, do you think? Also can't wait for the Louvre (the museum in France) to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Humans Only

Sure. Chances are I'd prefer it to the other end of the spectrum where everything is allowed (thus probably nothing feels really special.)

Announcement: New Products from Renegade Games for Vampire V5.

Should they consider a reissue of the core book in a redesigned form (say, even with a solid black cover with a minimalist layout with grayscale or no illustrations), I may reconsider buying it. I had been excited about this game, but then its graphic design and presentation turned me off...

D&D 5E (2014) What is one hp of damage in real life?

This, absolutely, and not as a joke, obviously. HP is an abstraction, and will mean different things to different characters. In general, full HP is practically a measure of how far away your character is from becoming unable to act because of physical injuries and/or stress etc; and a given...

My Favorite Parts of Van Richten’s Guide To Ravenloft

Errr… What makes you think you can't kill darklords in 5e RL? Where's the source for that (which would make it a "fact")? Not having stats does not mean they're unkillable. Edit: And even if they were actually unkillable in 5e (which they don't seem to be), that wouldn't change my view...
