I just hope that it will include much more lore than crunch, with a page count that small. raphaelus Thanks for the info!

Using one Deity to represent another

For some reason I completely forgot about that. The description says ''discover the state of the Realms and its deities after the second Sundering'', so the returned ones should be listed. Steve Kenson also said that the book will offer a ''tremendous wealth'' of gods: if they were just the...

Using one Deity to represent another

The book will include an update on the state of all FR deities post Sundering. Since some deities not included in the PHB have been confirmed to be back (Azuth, Eilistraee, Vhaeraun), it's likely that the SCAG will include an expanded list.

Salvatore, Perkins, & Mearls on Drizzt in RAGE OF DEMONS

I'd be overjoyed to see more Liriel and Elaith, and their reaction to the recent events. It is sad that Elaine is writing mostly short stories, but heck: even a short story anthology, or chapbooks would be awesome and refreshing. I know that Drizzt sells, but he alone takes up 2 of the 4...

D&D 5E (2014) Just read Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf...

Heh, those books didn't do a good job in covering the Sundering changes. They were a ''snapshot'' of the world during the event, but the vast majority of changes was not included in those books, and some info have been slowly trickling down during the last two years. SCAG should have a complete...

D&D 5E (2014) Just read Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf...

D&D fiction may be ''popcorn'', but does all of it have to? I mean, D&D is so wide and it has space for ''artsy'' stories and ''popcorn'' stories. I think that FR has had compelling books (I like Elaine Cunningham's work, for example), WotC should hire more authors than just three, and give them...

AD&D 1E Ye Olde Ranger of Editions Past (1E-4E)

When you said ''If we took a survey, how would it turn out'', I thought you were asking for opinions, so I gave mine. Comparing the ranger's companion to a standard companion isn't really fitting. Anyone can have a companion, so I don't see how a standard pet can be a class feature. What could...

AD&D 1E Ye Olde Ranger of Editions Past (1E-4E)

I don't see it as necessary. TBH, I don't even see why the ranger has to be tied with nature or be its guardian: isn't that the druid's role? To me a ranger is a ''light fighter'' specialized in ambushes and hit-and-run tactics. They are also scouts and know how to move in, or have particular...

D&D 5E (2014) Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide: Player Content Guesses

The interview about the book that was included in Dragon+ revealed that it will be closer to a 5e FRCS than just a SC guide, complete with an update of the changes that the Sundering brought to the lands and pantheons of Faerun. The focus in the description of the regions will be mainly on the...

D&D 5E (2014) XP Per Adventuring Day Per Player is Ridiculous

It may be, but at that point, I'm better off making my own story than following an adventure.

D&D 5E (2014) XP Per Adventuring Day Per Player is Ridiculous

Even if the books don't explicitly tell you ''look, if you wait for too long, this [instert baddy here] and their lackeys just *might* do some pretty heavy damage'', it should be a plausible conclusion to draw. Just try to imagine what a PC (and I mean in-world character, not the player) would...

D&D 5E (2014) XP Per Adventuring Day Per Player is Ridiculous

Uhm, that was my point: start high stakes adventures at higher levels. You should ask WotC why they are making ''save the world from something very dangerous stories'', setting up a situation where the Uber Doom can't be left unchecked, and where therefore the PCs don't have much time? They are...

D&D 5E (2014) XP Per Adventuring Day Per Player is Ridiculous

Yes, introducing training times is the first thing that comes to my mind, when trying to figure out how to moderate the hyper fast learning. The thing is, when the clock is ticking and the bad guys threaten to destroy the world, and some random level 1 mooks are supposed to be one of the main...

D&D 5E (2014) XP Per Adventuring Day Per Player is Ridiculous

In game time (I assume it means in-universe), it really depends on the setting. How long has someone to train to become a terrific swordsman, how long has someone to study to become a competent mage? It usually takes years of training. In real time, it depends on what you and your group want. If...
