D&D 5E (2014) [5e FR] Per Ed Greenwood, the drow deities Eilistraee and Vhaeraun are alive post-Sundering

I think that Eilistraee and Vhaeraun manifested themselved during the Sundering, while Ao was reforging the Tablets (in fact it has been said that during that event deities went crazy, trying to gather as much power as possible to secure their status before Ao sealed it with the tablets. So it...

D&D 5E (2014) [5e FR] Per Ed Greenwood, the drow deities Eilistraee and Vhaeraun are alive post-Sundering

More news, from Ed: Hi again, all. Irennan, heeeere's Ed: Communications being what they are in the Realms, with caravans bringing news and gossip and inevitable distortions as things get told and retold, most mortals can't be certain of much; they always have to trust (or not trust)...

D&D 5E (2014) [5e FR] Per Ed Greenwood, the drow deities Eilistraee and Vhaeraun are alive post-Sundering

If you are talking about the 5e PHB, the list there is incomplete (mainly racial deities are missing). If you are talking about previous editions, then yeah.

D&D 5E (2014) [5e FR] Per Ed Greenwood, the drow deities Eilistraee and Vhaeraun are alive post-Sundering

For all those of you who are interested, In Ed Greenwood's upcoming novel, ''Spellstorm'', it is revealed that: [...]Twas no easy thing, being the goddess of magic. A different deity than the rest, in a world so steeped in the Art, a divinity that had to care more for mortals, or embrace utter...

7 Years of D&D Stories? And a "Big Reveal" Coming?

Well, there's this: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?428366-Products-You-Would-Like-to-See-WotC-Publish-For-5E And yes, it's ''just a poll on the internet'' and it is of relative value, but it shouldn't be outright dismissed or ignored just because of that.

7 Years of D&D Stories? And a "Big Reveal" Coming?

Yet another gamble on their side is what I fear at the moment. I feel that if 5e were to fail or to prove not successful enough, that would spell the end of (published, that is) D&D and its settings...

D&D 5E (2014) Products You Would Like to See WotC Publish For 5E

I voted for campaign settings, regional campaign settings, short adventures and monsters books (I don't use 5e or any D&D-like system at all, but those are full of ideas and inspiration and are interesting to me nonetheless). I'm surprised to see CS being so popular. With all the comments on the...

Look What ED GREENWOOOD Is Doing! Forgotten Realms: The Unofficial, Non-Canon, Unlicensed, Utterly U

Yeah, to my understanding, it is drastically different from WotC's Realms.

Look What ED GREENWOOOD Is Doing! Forgotten Realms: The Unofficial, Non-Canon, Unlicensed, Utterly U

If that were the case, then my only interest in 5e would be completely gone. Especially after all their talking about Ed's being at the helm again, about the Realms being restored and so on.

Look What ED GREENWOOOD Is Doing! Forgotten Realms: The Unofficial, Non-Canon, Unlicensed, Utterly U

In his presentation of the FR secretariat, Ed mentions this: '' Wizards of the Coast will be presenting you with new products of their own and licensed products—computer games, perhaps television and movies, certainly more novels. Of course, new adventures and tournament Organized Play...

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls explaining his view of D&D and how it should be merchandize

Most corporates care about maximum profit above anything else, so yeah: being ''greedy'' -so to speak- is quite norm for them.

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls explaining his view of D&D and how it should be merchandize

In my post I've said that this is just speculation and that until we get to see how things fold out, we can just do that, speculate. I've also said that I'm not judging them, because making money is what corporates are for, but that if they indeed choose to neglect the game for gadgets, then it...

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls explaining his view of D&D and how it should be merchandize

There are craptons of companies that make shirts, apps and all the random gadgets. Only Hasbro/WotC can make D&D/Forgotten Realms/Eberron/Planescape/... If they prioritize the ''brand'' and neglect the RPG because of that, then it means that they probably don't really care about nurturing it...

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls explaining his view of D&D and how it should be merchandize

The thing is that -while others will surely keep developing RPGs and prioritize them over other stuff- Hasbro/WotC own the settings and game that I like and enjoy the most. Seeing talks about those losing priority in favor of stuff like apps is disheartening, whether it is financially...

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls explaining his view of D&D and how it should be merchandize

Wow, if this actually is their take on D&D, then the future of the RPG and its settings will be truly sad. Hearing all this talk about valuing some random D&D-branded apps, t-shirts or other little, meaningless (IMO) stuff over the RPG is so damn discouraging.

    D&D 5E (2014) Any Realms news?

I know, the subtractive changes were the bad ones, the additive ones would have caused no problem. And I guess that most of the subtractive changes are the ones we're going to see reverted through the Sundering (according to what they've said, with old feel and faces returning): Halruua, Thay...

    D&D 5E (2014) Any Realms news?

I'm aware of those changes, but they're incomplete. I've heard them saying that the novels and other stuff are only a narrow part of the whole event (they described it to something akin to a snapshot of small regions during the WW2). The changes in the lands/pantheons and so on described in the...

Regional sourcebooks+adventure would also be cool, especially combined with a broad update articles.

    D&D 5E (2014) Any Realms news?

They are basically reverting the changes through in world deus ex machina, though (just like they implemented them, making previous ''history'' moot in the new era --even though FR authors have been trying to tie the two parts as of recent--. And of those 100 years of history, only a really...

    D&D 5E (2014) Any Realms news?

Yeah, I see your point. They'll publish the book when such a move will be profitable in their book. Nonetheless, Ed has been writing huge quanitities of lore for the FR, so I guess that the changes brought by the Sundering are truly big. And if said changes don't actually deserve a new book and...
