D&D 5E (2014) My Review of Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes is Live will also answer any questions

Which is the problem with generic fantasy humans. They're boring and uninspired, because the other races aren't actually other races, but simply cool aspects of the human race masked as other races. Once you render all that make the humans stand out the archetypal trait of other races, either...

Maybe, since both Eilistraee and Drizzt are limited to Toril.

I see. That's a weird passage to put in, tho, since supposedly the book is written by him as a study on the conflicts of the Multiverse, and he writes a whole section about Eilistraee and mentions Drizzt, despite not believing that they exist, and admitting it in the same book? I mean, I know...

Ah, thank you. Thatis much, much better (and pretty much the old lore).

Eh, that would work with someone like Volo, but archmages have a lot of credibility in D&D. Especially Mordenkainen, who is completely neutral and has no favorite horses in this race.

No, evil drow are not soulless. Their souls are no more upon death. Nah, they'll just retcon it again. Because, as they like to say: "story first" ;P

Up to now, yes, that's what happened. With this lore, they seem to just go over this perpetual circle of deaths and reincarnations.

I have asked the question to someone who has the book (another thread on this very forum: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?640041-My-Review-of-Mordenkainen%92s-Tome-of-Foes-is-Live-will-also-answer-any-questions), and he confirmed that 1) elves reincarnate 2)elves who disappoint the...

Thank you for checking. But wow, so the souls of the elves who don't match the Seldarine's standards are destroyed? And the drow are destroyed a priori, with only chances of not being destroyed by following Eilistraee or the Seldarine? That's a massive retcon, and truly harsh, tbh. That bit...

Listening to a podcast review (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/mage-productions/id1376790775?mt=2), I've heard that, in the new lore, the elven souls reincarnate after each death, but the drow souls just... die? So, the drow get no afterlife? Would you be so kind to check if that's true...

Vulkoor is there. I saw a whole section about him, right after Eilistraee, on the last page before the Shadar Kai/Raven Queen section begins.

It's only logical. She squandered huge amounts of resources left and right, she got her ass kicked by everyone (even by a half-dead Mystra), and she wasted resources in trying to make her own Weave when--as Ed puts it--she simply didn't have the finesse and knowledge to do so. Her plan to take...

The Blood War: Part of Mordenkainen's Contents Page

Idk. Lolth hates her own children's (Eilistraee and Vhaeraun) guts, their worship is the worst kind of heresy that you can commit in a city under her control, and she does her best to keep Eilistraee's existence a secret. Ghaunadaur is just Ghaunadaur. As for Zinzerena, Lolth subsumed her in the...

The only drow god that falls in that category is Selvetarm, that I know. Eilistraee, Vhaeraun, Zinzerena, Ghaunadaur--all of those do their own thing.

The Blood War: Part of Mordenkainen's Contents Page

Yeah, but while (surprisingly) all the Dark Seldarine get a write-up, only a handful of the Seldarine do (their write-ups seem to be more in-depth, tho, while those for the Dark Seldarine are much more superficial. Idk why they made this choice, there's at least as much lore about the drow gods...

Only a few Elven deities get writeups, tho. Most of them are just listed. To answer your other question, TRQ counts as her own deity. As Mearls said in the video about her, they wanted to make her simply something else. There's one thing that I don't like in this book (I heard this info in a...
