    D&D 5E (2014) New D&D product listed on Amazon

LordEntrails As I said, I don't believe that removing a character *automatically* makes a setting poorer, it depends on what that character is to the setting, and what they brings to the table, and how and why the character is removed. When you make a drastic change to a setting, you need to...

    D&D 5E (2014) New D&D product listed on Amazon

4e wasn't really a reboot. It only moved the timeline forward and removed a lot of stuff of the Realms. It was a clean slate more than anything else. Strangely enough, they targeted a lot of things that FR fans enjoyed, so they now decided that "Ehm... Ao brought everyone back, ok?" for 5e. If...

    D&D 5E (2014) New D&D product listed on Amazon

I'm really happy to see him back, honestly. Going forward in a creative way doesn't require to take every single iconic character of a setting (except Drizzt and Elminster) and remove them. That only leads to situations like the pseudo in-world reboot that is 5e FR. They could, you know...

    D&D 5E (2014) New D&D product listed on Amazon

Xanathar is not a single beholder. It's a sort of title that was taken by different beholders during the history of Waterdeep. The Xanathar guild is currently active--very active--tho, in Ed's latest book (Death Masks).

D&D 5E (2014) SURVIVOR RETURNS: Lich Wars - Vecna Wins!

He's a lich *and* a FR god. That pretty much makes sure that even if he dies, no matter what happens, no matter how deader than dead you make him, there's no way that he won't come back. In fact I think that he has already died and come back once.

Acererak - 19 Azalin - 16 Dragotha - 9 Dregoth - 9 Erandis Vol - 13 Kiaransalee - Dead I feel kinda sorry for her, tbh. She has already "died" once, and she has *just* come back from the "dead" for 5e. Oh well, life's tough :P Szass Tam - 11 Vecna - 15 Velsharoon - 9 Vlaakith CLVII - 12 Xykon - 14

D&D 5E (2014) RAS's Maestro: Future products and a bit of a rant. (MAJOR SPOILER ALERT)

WotC did most of the stuff. Yes, it's true that they discussed what to do with a few authors (and WotC decided to revert the Spellplague/end of 3e, as those events ended up not being really profitable) but I think that the decision to not invest in books or articles or short stories to provide...

Dhaeraowathila, drow hunters of Shevarash (Forgotten Realms cleric domain)

I've tried to make the Dhaeraowathila speciality priest of Shevarash from 2e into a 5e cleric domain. According to canon, this is an elf/half-elf (obviously not dark elves) only option, but I can see clerics of other races (who are not enemies of the elves) who have been wronged by the drow and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Eliminating Non-Human Deities from FR

The thing with non human deities, is that they can be heavily involved in the history of the race, and their actions usually have a big role in their race's current state (Elven and Drow pantheons are an example of this). Replacing them with another deity would take away from this involvment, or...

The Return of Volo; Plus An Official D&D Coloring Book

Jeremy explained that. WotC has to contract Ed to write at least 1 book/novel every year, or the rights revert to him. Now that I think about it, my wording was somewhat misleading, sorry about that.

The Return of Volo; Plus An Official D&D Coloring Book

It is, Ed himself said so. What Jeremy said is also true. So WotC still has to respect some conditions and can't just do as they please.

    D&D 5E (2014) Playing a Drow

Not really. The drow aren't in part demon. When, back during the 2nd Crown War, Lolth sent Wendonai to seduce the noble houses of Ilythiir, many of them took the bait, and consorted with him. This gave their heirs a demon taint (not even close to tiefling levels tho, as we can see), which--once...
