WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

Yes, my reply was to Derren's post. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, you have a point. However it has been said on the Candlekeep forums that Ed has been writing a lot of FR stuff since this Summer, so I guess that they have already got some substantial lore about the setting (the fact...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

That would be stupid, as no FR fan -no matter of what edition they prefer- would be pleased by the absence of significant FR lore/support. Also, I don't think that this is the case: as I wrote in a previous post, Ed has written a lot of lore about various areas, deities, organizations and so on...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

@gyor Ed has written and turned a lot of lore on regions, organizations, deities and so on in the post Sundering Realms. It's up to WotC to decide when to release it. For example here (http://theedverse.com/#comment-1681059936) he says that basically every region of the world has been covered...

That's what I'm hoping for. A mostly fluff FRCS would be warmly welcomed (by me, at least).

I see your point. I hope that at least a broad update for FR will be released soon enough, tho. That can't really be called ''big support'', more like basic info to keep the (published) setting alive.

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

As far as I can see, people are already doing what you propose, Scrivener. I don't think that DMs/players feeling tied to WotC is the issue. I believe that most Realms fans, despite running their own version, still want to know what happened to the setting they love, their favorite areas...

These news are all so damn discouraging... How much lore do the own that we will likely never see for whatever reason?[/COLOR]

Myth Drannor has suffered heavy damage. Ed wrote an article about that for the ''Forging the Realms series''. You can find it in WotC's site archive, I guess. And I'd like to see Halruaa re-taken/restored, it is one of my favorite areas and I was saddened to see it get LOLNUKED.

Having lore and detailed info is a positive thing -yes, even over detailed info- because it means having options, ideas and inspiration to work with(what you are paying for). Any DM can decide "oh, that's what actually is happening there", no matter what the canon says, changing/picking from the...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

They have told us the same thing over and over. They said something along the lines of ''the Sundering books are but a snapshot of a whole huge events that is going to reshape the Realms. NPCs are returning, lands are returning, gods are returning, the feel is returning. No more RSEs''. However...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

''But Ao... and THE SUNDERING...'' More seriously, at this point the Realms is so full of cheese and ridiculous stuff happening all over the place (I mean, look at the premise od the Sundering) that -personally- I don't really care that much anymore about the how, just that what was thrown away...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

And not even the full one... Yes, this. It's not merely a matter of ''but you can use old material''... you don't say? It's what people have been doing for years. There are many fans who would like to know how 5e FR look like and that would like to see more stories and lore about their...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

They have hinted that, tho (the Sundering bringing back all the gods, Abeir and Toril splitting again -which would supposedly bring back Maztica/Unther/Mulhorand-, the Weave being restored, the feeling shifting to a more hopeful and positive vibe, and so on) and have repeated it in this...

WotC's Chris Perkins Talks Realms & Sundering

Yeah. ''The stuff you FR fans like and that we removed is coming back!'' basically is what they told people 2 years ago, and now we still don't concretely know what changes happened to the Realms (besides the handful listed in the novels, and they are supposedly far from covering all that...

    D&D 5E (2014) Forgotton Realms Canon?

That's a part of the FR updated pantheon (I recall Mearls saying on twitter that it's not the full one), some of the currently active or returned deities aren't included in the list (most racial ones, for example). Proof of that is that all of the deities in the list can be picked for their...

D&D 5E (2014) Does anyone who got an mm at Gencon want to offer up spoilers to us?

They'll likely be alive, with so many -even very minor- gods coming back, leaving them out would be rather lame (especially considering that they are iconic for the FR drow). Maybe they will be in the DMG. Probably. Some combat buffs spells would also fit in, or even some kind of freedom domain...

D&D 5E (2014) Does anyone who got an mm at Gencon want to offer up spoilers to us?

I was wondering if the drow description mentioned some of the other deities worshipped by them other than Lolth (like Eilistraee or Vhaeraun).

D&D 5E (2014) Ask me Monster Manual questions!

Does the drow section include mentions to deities they worship other than Lolth (like Eilistraee, or Vhaeraun)?

    Resurrecting a good diety

1: As it has been said, with the Sundering most deities will be back on their own. If you don't want to wait fot an official complete list (the one in the PHB isn't) or want to ignore this aspect of the Sundering, I'd suggest Eilistraee as a good candidate. She's a beacon of hope for all drow...
