Limit on the number of characters

Paolo mentioned the possibility of more character slots eventually becoming available (this was right around the initial release of the new builder), but stopped well short of making that a promise or providing an ETA. I'd recommend providing feedback through the customer service interface...

Need a Title for Raven Queen Based Miracle Worker (PP)

Fun! I've taken the Raven Queen as the lady of merciful fate - particularly in a world where the dead may rise, a good, restful death is a positive thing. Matrons of Mercy Sisters of Mercy (Hey now)

    Helpless

The Wizard's ninth level spell Face of Death does exactly that - it leaves the target active but helpless. It's... weird.

Thief seems overpowered to this new/old DM

Yeah. The Kulkor Arms Master's level 16 feature is just stupid-good for thieves. It basically allows thieves to double attack every round, getting full MBA benefits with each strike, charge shenanigans on the first hit, and guaranteeing sneak attack damage on the second. It's like sorcerers...

Thief seems overpowered to this new/old DM

I'm not the one doing DPR analysis. I just explained the specific ranger build you misunderstood. Incorrect. And your Thief has taken Backstabber, while Lethal Hunter is still available to the Ranger. Backstabber trumps Lethal Hunter for damage, while a Dwarven Ranger gets up to four times the...

Herores of the Fallen Lands - Are Slayers underpowered?

The out-of-the-box fighter skill set leaves a bit to be desired, but they do get Intimidate and Streetiwse as class options. It's unfortunate that CHA typically falls in priority right after STR, CON, WIS, and DEX. :P I'm surprised your Knight gets so ignored, though. That build gets...

Thief seems overpowered to this new/old DM

You have a hate-on for thieves. I get that. You're also obsessed with first level DPR. I get that, too. While there's no point in debating this with you, I will point out that you're missing the point of the particular build in question (dwarf gouge ranger). Twin Strike: that's what a...

Essentials Thief can't take Trap Master?

Knights. The new Eladrin Knight build, in particular, benefits from Melee Training.

    Building Two Characters with Synergy

An Enchanter Mage and Rogue (or Thief) combo is nicely murder-tastic. Right out of the gate the Mage has an at-will that causes an enemy to grant combat advantage (Phantasmal Assault) and encounter and daily power options that daze or knock enemies prone (or unconscious!). The Rogue doesn't...

    Essentials feat too powerful???

So, a character that puts forth a heavy feat investment is more-or-less on par with a character that makes a heavy stat-point investment. Except that the the high-stat character can choose to make the same feat investment and remain ahead, or he can choose to invest in other stuff. And this...

    Essentials feat too powerful???

And no one will. You certainly seem to have already made up your mind. Still, I enjoy beating my head in to brick walls on Fridays. Class features are wrapped in feats (moreso Pre-Essentials). Multiclassing involves feats. The ability to customize and emphasize character elements is a good...

D&D Encounters: March of the Phantom Brigade

Not unless your organizer says so. The default for Encounters is "Essentials+" - any of the explicitly Essentials material published during or after the Essentials run. The goal is to make the format easy for both the players and the DMs.

Do you think WoTC should be sued?

I think it'd make an interesting publicity stunt. "Fourth Ed - it's so *not* your daddy's D&D that your daddy took us court!"

    1/19 D&D Insider Update

Can you confirm that all the campaign-specific options show up? I tried this a while back and, while it did incorporate the inherent bonuses, it didn't seem to create a Dark Sun campaign character. If that's been fixed, awesome. :) PS - you're a ninja. I realized I'd grabbed the wrong...

    1/19 D&D Insider Update

I'm not seeing the same result. I create a Dark Sun character (a slayer), level it to two, and there's no enhancement bonus to hit or damage applied to my MBA. What steps are you taking where you see the bonus appear?

    1/19 D&D Insider Update

Sure there is. Manually adjust the XP field. The "level up" button will change to a "level down to X" button, where X is the appropriate level for the new XP total.

    1/19 D&D Insider Update

This was, apparently, a complete bug-fix patch. Which is awesome. Fix what's broken without introducing new broken stuff. Hopefully we'll see feature additions like "allow for additional feats" and "a freaking toggle for the already supported Inherent Bonuses" in the February update.

    Confused about LFR character creation.

Is true, but there's the danger that someone might take the current "interim" document a bit too literally and conclude that there's a more current document somewhere with more up-to-date rules. Empowered fishing and whatnot is great, but I'm a fan of crystal clarity. :]

    DDI 1/18 Update Delayed

The update has been pushed. It will hopefully release this week. Hopefully.
