Yeah, me too. Started happening after I signed up!

    Million Dollar TTRPG Kickstarter Club

Where's Dungeon Alchemist? They were at over $1.6m yesterday, and still climbing. A week, or less 'til it ends.

    Best RL Pantheon?

Why does everyone forget that the Norse pantheon (mostly Thor and Odin) are still worshipped in Iceland? (Not by a whole lot of people, but not extinct, either.) That said, my favorite is... you guessed it, the Norse Pantheon!

    D&D 5E (2014) How advanced/civilized are your cities?

For me, it is map first. Then I squeeze in whatever I think may be needed. Which is why I don't think about jails (most of my players create characters who try to stay out of them), although every city has at least one. They just don't show up on the map key more often than not.

    D&D 5E (2014) How advanced/civilized are your cities?

As much as I hate to say it, half these things I don't even think about when 'building' my cities. So I didn't vote for them, even though some, like jails, would certainly appear if one were needed.

Pathfinder 2E Taking20 -"I'm Quitting Pathfinder 2e Because of This Issue"

One point everyone has missed so far is that he says that the problem doesn't really get bad until around 10th level. So not that big of a deal if your normal games don't get much higher than that. (Disclaimer: I've never played Pathfinder, 1E or 2E.)

A question about armor and vehicles

Use both. And what about parachutes/ejection seats? The more realistic you get, the more rules you need. But you already know that. I've seen rules that have armor take damage (Runequest?), where the armor is protective (DR) but the PC has HP as well.

    D6xD6 System by Lester Smith

    Eh, what? 1 x 1 = 1. 6 x 6 = 36.

Worlds of Design: How Long Should Your Rulebook Be?

Oh yes. Back in the day, before TFT was a thing, half our player group wrote short rule sets to turn Melee and Wizard into an RPG. In recent years I've finally written up a rulebook for my own RPG. Nothing new in it, and I find it tempting to add/subtract stuff whenever a new rule that I like...

Worlds of Design: Baseline Assumptions of Fantasy RPGs

I've said this before in other threads, and I'll keep on saying it. Why don't the clerics of the god of magic have access to all of the spells in the book? And maybe even a few more.

Worlds of Design: Baseline Assumptions of Fantasy RPGs

Because gold was only used for big transaction, not everyday purchases. It also messes with the economic model where some things are priced about right, but others are way out of wack.

Worlds of Design: Baseline Assumptions of Fantasy RPGs

Yeah, using the gold standard instead of silver is one I don't care for either.

I believe that he's talking about the source material. Lew?

And I hate that. But then, I'm an old fart anyway. Get off my keep's lawn!

D&D 5E (2014) Odd things in the rules that bug you?

I always take prestidigitation when I can, for just those reasons!

    Dragon Reflections #35

Their Halloween covers were some of the best, and also usually the most clever. I too liked this issue for the Traveller material.

The Horror! of Introducing New Players

Pretty good advice. But jeeze louise, the singular of dice is die! I see so many people make that mistake, and it just grinds my geers for some reason. You'd think that RPGers, at least, would know better! Anyway, be well and stay safe everyone.

    A question about time travel

Congrats, you've discovered the bugaboo of all 'go back to the past' stories: Paradox. That's why alt history works better, no paradoxes. Unfortunately, I can't think of many ways to make it work that don't involve GM fiat. "That's the way it works, because I said so!" Of course, if you're ok...

TIME's 100 Best Fantasy Books of All Time

What is Dragonflight doing here? It is SF. (Yeah, I know its really fantasy, but it was published as sf, so shouldn't count.)

    Dragon Reflections #34

I believe this is correct. Also, while you were levelling up your second class you couldn't use some/all of your abilities from your first one. After they evened out, I believe, you had to choose which one you were going to play for a given adventure?
