If it is Godzilla vs. Rodan, I will be extreamly annoyed if Mothra doesn't show up!

    D&D 5E (2014) Legends & Lore 28.04: Battlesystem! (mass battles rules)

I only read the first page of comments, so this may have come up later. Why only 10 units per 20x20' square? Shouldn't there be 16? And that's for a very loose formation, not a shield wall or pike phalanx. Not that it matters to me, as I have no interest in mass combat rules.

I'm glad to hear that. (Actually, I suspected there would be, but wanted to make sure.) :)

    Starship Thread

I haven't been following O.L.D./N.E.W at all, but I see that your ship building rules have the same problem that Traveller's did. If the PCs want to have a ship that can fight anything other than the weakest of foes, they have to spend buckets of money and hire a like amount of crew. IME most...

D&D 5E (2014) When should our warriors see their first +1 longswords?

Another point about magic items, which has nothing to do with weapons, is that they really, Really, really need to stress non-combat items. I've seen a LOT of magic items in my day, but the one that I really remember is the guardian teddy bear that someone long ago had made to keep his child...

D&D 5E (2014) What Should Be Part of Magic Item Creation?

Absolutely! Hours, days, weeks, even years! And all the ones I didn't check off fall into the very rare category, rather than never. (Well, with the possible exception of XP, and I'd even allow that if someone really wanted to make the sacrifice for some reason.)

D&D 5E (2014) When should our warriors see their first +1 longswords?

As early as 1st, no later than 3rd. They're rather boring, and don't do much, so I don't see it as a big deal power-wise. On the other hand, it is somebody's first magic item! So that has to count for something.

And I still can't download any of the free stuff. Internet Explorer just shuts the page down.

Drawmij: Honestly, how long did it take you?

Pretty much this, except that I learned about Melf the same way. But then, it never occurred to me to even look for hidden meanings in published character names.

    April's Fool

I've got nothing. But I saw the spaghetti harvest years ago, and it was old then. But a true timeless classic, nonetheless!

    D&D 5E (2014) Legends & Lore 03/24/2014

I have to say that the articles from the past several weeks have been eroding my original enthusiasm for 5E, but this one has boosted it back up quite a bit. This is exactly the sort of thing I want to see. And I think the Trinkets idea is awesome! (Not that any of this is new, but its still...

    Today's Bill Cosby?

George Carlin may not be 'clean', but nobody does insightful better. How old are your kids? A little taste of the real world might be what they need. I don't know modern comedians at all, but what's wrong with the originals? Bill Cosby's old stuff is timeless, for the most part.

D&D 5E (2014) New Rule of Three is up for 31 Jan. 2014

*sigh* 40 years in and they still can't get their facts straight, despite being told over and over again that they're wrong. Mail armor is QUIET, leather armor is NOT !!! (Not without a lot of oil and elbow grease, anyway.)

    Let's read the entire run

Well, you're half right. Springheel Jack was around at about the same time as the Ripper, but was quiet different. Leaping over 8 ft. walls, paralyzing young women, etc.
