Great new retro-clone - Fantastic Heroes & Witchery (free PDF)

I used both links, but it just won't open for me. (The Dragonsfoot page did, but not it's link.) Help? This sounds really neat!

    Ridiculously powerful comic characters

Yep, Supes is the #1 overpowered character ever. Especially the 50s comics version. The one who once chained all the planets of the solar system together and hauled them through intergalactic space... Others are anyone who has to fight him (one-on-one without needing Kryptonite as an equalizer)...

WHO was it that TAMED the WOLF?

Ayla of the clan of the cave bear either invented or distributed everything in the stone age, except flint knapping and fire making. I thought everyone knew that.

    The Pulp Gadgeteer hero search

Doc Savage is probably the pulp gadgeteer. The Shadow, not so much. There was another, but for the life of me I can't remember his name, even though its short and simple. He was the guy whose face turned white and plastic-y. The Avenger? Yeah, I think that's it.

    D&D 5E (2014) I just don't buy the reasoning behind "damage on a miss".

The problem, as it always has been, is with HP and AC. They simply aren't realistic, so any attempt to describe them, or what they do, in realistic terms simply doesn't work. Never has, and, until they are changed (Good luck with that!), never will.

    Let's read the entire run

I believe that Goshawks are a type of real hawk. Don't know about Dark Chanting ones though...

D&D 5E (2014) To what degree will you use (or are you using) miniatures and a battlemap for D&D Next?

Been using minis from early on (pre 1E), and I think that battlemats are the greatest thing since sliced bread! Never could stand freeform combats. Too many arguments about who's where, mostly.

Good to hear! Great work so far, looking forward to the rest.

Your 5 favourite movies... and why?

In no particular order, and subject to change without notice. My man Godfrey. One of the best screwball comedies ever. Powell and Loy at their best. (Although The Good Fairy and...

D&D 5E (2014) Are you going to buy the 5e Core Books?

Voted probably, but its almost certainly... but not quite Absolutely! At least for the core books. Without a gaming group anything else will depend on how much I like it, or not.

The Red Dragon Inn: Guide to Inns and Taverns: Change the Way Your Pathfinder Characters Spend Their

What about stables? Too few FRPG works about the subject bother to include them, although they are a necessity in a world where transportation is dominated by the horse. (Even though many adventurer groups don't bother with them because they quickly become walking targets.)

    How will humanity end?

Pure, unadulterated stupidity on humanity's part.

    Legends & Lore: Clas Groups

I've only read the first few pages, so others may (have) already said the same thing. If I read what Mike said right, most people didn't care much for the idea, but they're going ahead with it anyway. Well, add me to the list. But then, I'm one of those who really want to get rid of the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Kender are a core race?

Hmm, I guess it is. But I know that I'm not alone in my hatred of Kender, and I was, and am, interested in what others think about what having them in core might mean. And I think its serving that purpose. (Actually, I don't know anyone who would run a game with Kender in it, so its not likely...

    D&D 5E (2014) Kender are a core race?

And what if I'm not the GM? Yeah, I can just leave, but who wants to be put in that position in the first place?
