Ah, the PHB version says you and they take 2d10+WISmod damage each round. So, as long as you can sustain it and keep from getting bloodied, you can just wait for it to die. Kinda ugly, but it was a 25th level power.

And we had one build from pretty much every new class before PHB3 came out. A much better way to handle things. I so wish Dark Sun had generated so many bazillion-page threads instead of a non-controversy like this.

If only there were some method where we could purchase such a pdf, to read and use ourselves. We should pitch that to WotC. (Not a shot at you ourchair, but one at WotC's pdf policy. Bringing them back would put out a lot of fires on this one.)
