What do you do about the goblin and hobgoblin's lack of intelligence penalty compared to the orc? Do your dark elves (very cool interpretation of actual dark elves, btw) get dumber as they age?

Concept: escaped prisoner on the run from both the people that wrongfully imprisoned him and the actual authorities. Wrinkle: Lawful good alignment; Human male ...older though not elderly. Not quite sure of class yet, likely a fighter or fighter/rogue.

I am a fan of more base classes. I'd also like to see skills take on a larger role within the game. Feats are basically spells for fighters and new spells are always okay, so long as they do something new and just don't rehash old ground... I don't need an acid-based fireball.
