Default "PoL" Setting - Setting Info Compilation (Now Wikified!)

So that I fully understand this since I don't have the books yet. Is this stuff all from the books or fluff you've made up?

    The Tarrasque: An indepth analysis

It's gonna be awesome when the Tarrasque shows up in the PHBII as a playable race. ;)

EN World RPG Book Club for June

Is this game so easy a caveman could do it?

Magic Items and their resale value

Nah, it's not bad at all. It's the way I've DM'd for decades. Access to magic was always under my control and usually I customized the items to be very different from what players got used to seeing in the handbooks. It made them more desirable to my players because after playing for years the...

    Wizard and spellbooks

Who says you have to write it in the spell book? How about this. Once you learn a spell it magically appears in your specially prepared tome to contain that knowledge. Since you are only skilled enough to have so many spells at a time, you know a method of releasing spells from the tome...

Magic Items and their resale value

It definitely gives the PC's much more incentive to use the disenchanting/enchanting rules. And that's work's just fine by me. The whole "buying magic items" situation is not a good story element I think. Having to disenchant/enchant items and maybe barter them should help make them more rare...

This is why Mammoth Minions are fine

That is a great example. And thinking of that battle what about the 300,000 other guys running along side of them? Mostly minions too I'd say.

Greg Bilsland on Manual of the Planes

16 playable races! Awesome, I hadn't read about that yet. I think that was very smart of them to do that. This is excellent and welcome news. Thanks. :)

    Paper Minions - WT?

I know your talking to Karinsdad but... It's always nice to say sorry, but your cool. There is nothing wrong/bad in anything you posted. I read it as you explained and didn't take it as even an ounce of being argumentative.

Greg Bilsland on Manual of the Planes

Is that so? Well, I don't have the books and if they are in the MM then I think you are totally right. Hmm... maybe the Tarrasque! No, no... After thinking about it then it must be Aasimar. You are right again. A counterpoint to the Teifling, that would work out well I think.

How Do You Plan To Interpret Hit Points, Healing Surges and Damage?

This is the best way to do it I believe. I am lucky in that my gaming group isn't concerned for a second about finding the meaning/reason their PC's have healing abilities. Just as they don't worry about why they can perform magic, it's a part of the game and it's just accepted without...

Greg Bilsland on Manual of the Planes

Above all else in D&D I love Planescape. Can't wait to get this book! This will be where the Githzerai are introduced as a playable race I think.

    Paper Minions - WT?

Yes, it is for discussion. Not for insults like your's here. So, I've been DMing as long as you and I think the minion rules are excellent. My players are going to love them. My players will know who the minions are and who aren't because of their characters experience in sizing up bad guys...

The Final Preview - Alignment (Is this really the first thread?)

Completely agree. You have defined the real problem with alignment's issues I think. As long as you grasp this concept clearly there shouldn't be any problems. While I love the alignment system in 3e this new simplified systems descriptions are excellent and really not limiting at all.

The Final Preview - Alignment (Is this really the first thread?)

Well, in the campaign my friends and I run the Law and Chaos axis is of massive importance in the universe. This is probably because we all are heavily influenced by Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion books. We are switching to 4e and will be using it there too.

How do Good Infernal Pact Warlocks work?

"To use Vaapad, a Jedi must allow himself to enjoy the fight; he must give himself over to the thrill of battle. The rush of winning. Vaapad is a path that leads through the penumbra of the Dark Side...This was Vaapad's ultimate test." Mace Windu on tapping into the Dark Side with the light...
