    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

"desert" is both too broad and too narrow I think. It covers Heat, Lack of Water, Earth (sand), Sun, decay (erosion), etc. If you have a desert deity, pick a portfolio most matching it's outlook. IE Is it a force of decay? a lord of Dryness?

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Just want to say the updated portfolios are already looking spiffy. :) I think the portfolio weaknesses are pretty cool too. And some of the abilities have cool names. (Armageddon! Its worth spending 12 divine slots just to get this ability)

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

I don't think it would hurt; but it might be a tad powerful, especially how you arbitrate it. Example: Apply it to Negative Energy Ray. I drain say 10d4 levels, but nothing would stop 5d4 of it. Potential problems applying it to Withering Effect may ensue as well. I think it is fine when...

    Surtur Preview

I think you have forgotten in epic base save bonuses are at 1/2 level. IE Base save bonuses are +73 to +79. But yes, the Neutronium Golem has a lot of powers that are easily saved against. But I think its challenge comes more from the Numbers-cruch; You have to save every round. Even if you...

Critique this spell: Weight of the World

It makes sense as a spell, but the mechanics seem a bit strong. -8 Armor Check even if I am a peasant or a monk? (with no gear weight more than 1 lb?) Perhaps victims wearing things of no real weight, like plain cloths, would get a bonus on the save against this spell? Perhaps the spell...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Well, unless I missed something, eternals can't be killed anyway. (Except by "uber-death" moves like Omega Effect and Astro Effect. Heck, those ignore regeneration anyway) But yes, that sounds like a good method. (Though if implemented, it does set a precedent; Using wish to remove Ex...

    Withering [Effect]

I am not "argueing" :) I was just mentioning that that could be the case. I am not sure whether that using it as such is balanced. But it does make sense in a strange sort of way.

    New class in development

As someone who has studied Judo, I am curious as to what you put for the "Master" rank. It seems like you equate each *Rank* as a Degree of black belt. There are no 10th Degree masters in Judo alive. (A couple of 9th, no 10th) Perhaps the "Master" rank could be a Prestige or Leadership-like...

    Reflect Attack

I like. :) I think its a little strong for a 7th level spell. - It reflects up to 5 attacks of ANY strength. - It lasts a decent ammount of time, so a mage, knowing a fight was near, could cast this. My suggestions: - Reduce the number of attacks it could reflect. Like limit it to 4...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Actually, I went with greater. (Rank 2. I wanted the immolation to have a 1:1 Ratio.) Which brings a minor issue with Atomic effect: all the powers are easy to figure out except the poison. (It always comes out to weird fractional numbers. And the formula is unclear; I think I got it, but since...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Meh, what can I say; Golems were never very good at making saves. (They are immune to magic; But it seems a tanglefoot bag defeats the quite easily) Yea, I forgot about Bonus construct HD due to VSCs. And the BAB was wrong in BOTH. :( This is probably due to me throwing together a bunch of...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Okay, heres the updated Plutonium Golem. Things to note: I don't think anyone caught I forgot the Base 10 AC in the previous version:) Recalculated the area of some of the powers. Ability damage for the blast was off in my original; Recalculated. Ageing ability added; Doesn't seem deadly. I put...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

1 ton of Enchanted Plutonium. :) (it Probably weights more than 1 ton too; I just got that number from the Stone Golem :)) In a while I'll repost the stats: Adding in the suggested size modifiers and perhaps an Ageing effect of some nature. (Perhaps similar to the Neutronium Golems' X-Ray Pulse...

    Withering [Effect]

Actually, I remember a discussion on the wording of bonuses and the way stat damage/drain works is, since it never goes below zero, if you have an item to increase a stat, only the "Base" can be drained; the Enhancement will allways sit on top if it. IE 20 Int with Headband +6. Even If drained...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Oh, Guess I better recheck the rules; The way I always remembered it was this: Raise Dead: Brings back to life as long as body whole. Ressurection: Brings back as long as there is a body. True Rez: Brings back even from dust or Death spell. Edit: Ok, rechecked the R.A.W.; It seems the only...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Even 2x damage is too little. At Fighter or Barbarian at low levels will be vaporizing goblins left and right. :) I like the threash-hold idea. Perhaps it should be like this: Hit Damage - Effect - Regeneration? Damage = Max Hit points - Could render victem auto-unconcious (Unless they are...

As far as physics go, Anime, Real Life, Comics, Videogames, Movies, etc. All have the same relevence, since we are relating them to a set of hypothetical physics as is. :)

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

I think you are right, except the regrowing limbs part. Granted, there isn't a single thing in the R.A.W. besides Vorpal that notes that you can lose limbs. (Kinda pointless to have stuff to prevent it then) So yes, in the current rules set, it is less useful than fast-healing. Old-timer D&D...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Thanks for the info. :) I based the CR off some earlier numbers: Construct HD were listed as .55 / HD. I gave +1 CR for each ability I though was Divine, and +6 for the Meltdown (Cosmic). Though I think I know where I erred: I gave the Meltdown a +6 worth when it should have been +12. :) I also...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Gentlemen, BEHOLD!... A Plutonium Golem! Golem: *BOOM!* ... Right. Heres the plutonium golem, from start, to finish. Conception A walking chunk of Weapons-grade fissable matter. Oh how often I need to threaten players with the wrath of such a creature. Lets looks at some of it's...
