    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

My opinion: The ring is too cheap. It is an absolute, basically giving you +Infinity to the situations it protects against. In a world that scales infinitely, such a thing couldn't possibly cost 40000 gp. Perhaps the ring would be better written as +(25?) to opposed grapple. For non-epic...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Well, I think for the most part, this is covered in the system already. Feats have requirements, and generally the more strict the requirement, the more powerful the feat. So a feat requireing 63 ranks in Tumble better be darn good. (Use tumble check instead of AC?)

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

I think it could go either way, depending on the "flavor" you put on wizards and sorcerers. Personally, I have sorcerers use material components for the spell that are "related" to the spell but not always the same. (Same value if the spell requires an expensive component) Example: Fireball...

Bummer, but hopefully nothing serious. The good news is that if the virus 'reveals' itself on your task bar, it probably isn't too serious. (bad spyware, etc) From what I understand, most of the serious virusii go undetected and just corrupt/re-write system files. Hope things go well.

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

As U_K said, once the portfolios are finished, the divinity rules are 97% useable. A few of the divine powers are worded oddly and need clarification, and some require one of the future IH books, (6 or 7 powers at most, but most are pretty basic) and there is a whole subset of Quintessence rules...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Well, think of all the things it would be immune to as an extraordinary power: Antimagic, Dispelling, Epic spells with the Seeds dispel and destroy, Disjunction, Deadmagic, theft of the ring, wouldn't register to magical detection. And think of the benifit; It makes you near-immune to grappling...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Well... I think Pssthpok's point was that sometimes (as pointed out by U_K and others) your monster entries lack consistancy. Your style of amalgamating monster abilities, while valid, isn't very original, and, no offence, some times they seem a bit odd. Pssthpok probably is a fan of Sandman...

Ahh, but I shall shoot my allies with them. :) Or with arrows of *insert any powerful self-only spell here*.

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

No problem. I don't want to answer for you, (since I could be horribly wrong, since you are the only real expert) but this one seemed simple, and since we all want you to spend as much time as you can on Ascension. :) I've done quite a bit of work on my own home-brew setting (writting the...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Spell shot seems to let you use spells instead of arrows. I would guess you fire the spell like an arrow, it deals normal damage for your bow, and affects the target with the spell. I assume they get all applicable saves / SR checks. I would also guess that the spell shot feat won't let you...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

I am sure they could. I doubt anyone cares enough to do a writeup on them. :) although I suspect they would fall into portfolio-style catagories, and be very easy. So, we need a hierarchy. Number Types - "Mortal"? (Non-epic, minor powers. Possibly dangerous in large quantities) (Haha a pun) -...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Well, then we must decide how many HD these things have, (and of what type. Abberation seems a bit odd. Outsider or Construct could also work, as could Elemental) and how they progress. I propose the tiers of HD follow a pattern of perfect squares. Ex: Weakest: 1 HD (1x1) 2nd weakest: 4 HD...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

I think this would be best written as the Interdimentional ability. (based on descriptive text for interdimentional and Undimentional) These guys would have some seriously mean powers. Many could be arbitrary like the Thelemic Damage Induction or Thelemic [Effect] (Possibly also keyed to other...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Well, unless the mechanics are getting a huge overhaul, I dont think it would take too much to change. Perhaps some time contumplating numbers and scaling, but Ascensions' powers are a good basis to work from. While the VSCs make up a good chunk of the system, they seem to be the big question...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

These things will inevitably come up. D20 breaks down really quick once you get to anything that resembles physics. (And sometimes common sense.) Since Ascension isn't finished, the VSC rules can be slightly altered, or a fix can be put in somewhere. (Like the suggested cosmic/transient...

Anybody else getting sick of the pervasive-magic crutch in the game?

I think while the system was built with magic as something not required, the challenges and expectations of the system require it. Its hard to walk that tightrope of balance with magic; Too much, and you are hounded for being too generous. Too few magic items can make seemingly normal...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

'Twas a good movie. Bowling-ball demilich for the win. Another Idea for the HP dillemma: A cosmic ability that doubles HP. BAM. Legendary Toughness? Maybe it could stack, increasing the final multiplier by 1 each time. (X2 base, then X3, then X4...) A transient ability (Or cosmic) ability...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Yea, I noticed that after throwing together "basic" High-lords. With +800 Strength they gain about 53 VSCs! With bonuses from the strength Portfolio and whatnot, you could be looking at more D10s for melee damage than exist! Perhaps the bonuses from the Divine Portfolios are applied "last" like...

How many hp in a block of stone? And what is its falling damage?

'Twas just a suggestion. I didn't want to guess if relativity applied to Cosmic beings and the like.
