    How many are playing SAGA?

But in Saga you're likely to have three or four skills which you can reroll or take ten on. That strikes me as a dramatic reduction in complexity.

    Roles, Power Sources; unbalanced?

The roles come from D&D. There's no way to get around that fact. They don't come from a video game. They don't come from WOW. Parties have always run best with the big 4. Role crossover has generally been rare, and mostly been along the tank/DPS axis. Full BAB classes can generally do...

    No Druid in PHB?

I would say that mechanically Druids are shapechange. And given that, as people have mentioned, that's already been fixed, I'd be surprised if they weren't in the PHB.

    Rezzing

The complaint about the Drow Wars method of resurrection is that it is a fluff fix and not a systemic fix.

    Character Generator

I expect that free character generators will be easy to find for 4e, just as they are for 3e. Given that, I don't see what the source of concern is.

D&D 4E 4e death of creative spell casting?

This has always been my thought on the subject, but I've never managed to distill it down to this level of perfection. So yeah, I agree with Tanuk.

D&D 4E Does anyone else feel like 4ed isn't really a new edition?

They're massively changing how all the classes work. That's enough for me.

    D&D 4E The WotC designers will be bashing 4e once 5e is announced . . .

Change is not progress, but I view SWSE and Bo9S as progress, and since those are the touchstones that keep cropping up, along with things that I agree are poorly done, vancian magic, grappling, shallower power curve, etc. I feel pretty confident that 4e will be progress, which is why I look...

    Spell Resistance...

SWSE concealment works on a penalty system, rather than a percentile system, which I hope to see carried over to 4e. I really hope the idea of SR is communicated as a significant bonus to your defense rating vs. spells rather than it's current incarnation, which produces another system when...

    No full attack option?

Lots of people have trouble with multiple attacks at different bonuses. I find that my group doesn't have that problem until later in the evening, where it gets to be an issue. I hope that D&D is like Saga, in that only dedicated fighters get four attacks in a round, and then only for clearing...

    Magic combined with condition track

Possibly as a recovery method. I think the condition track will mostly show up in spell effects, with drastically simplified effects tied to the track being the rule for spell and special effects.

    Rechan : What is, gauntlets?

    No full attack option?

I presume the ranger is using the Rapid Shot from SWSE which gives you an extra die of damage to your attack rather than requiring another attack roll.

I want separation of DM and PC crunch

I have to disagree with the OP. In general I'm against giving enemies abilities the PCs don't have access to, and I wouldn't want that concept enshrined in the rule books while making it harder for me to run spellcasters because spells are in two places.

perception of OD&D/AD&D as random deathtraps

Task resolution rules are good because they allow the player to know what his odds are ahead of time, particularly with physical skills. You know what kind of surface you can climb, you know about how far you can jump. The resolution system doesn't prevent GMs from stepping in and saying...

Tactical detail and complexity, reliance on minis

There are a lot of systems out there, and they all have different points of interest. I play D&D for the tactical aspect of it. If it became less tactical I'd be less interested.

Why Put magic Items in The PHB?

Yeah, just last session we came to a point where there was a great amount of money to be spent and a grand total of 1 copy of the DMG at the table for six people. We decided to put it off til next session and all use the SRD rather than wasting the time. We had.. 4 PHB I think. So this makes...

I hope the three core rulebooks have a "DM's clause".

D&D's tactical part is half the fun for me, if not more, as a player and a GM. As a GM, I'll let you play or use anything that is balanced because I want your tactical fate to be in your own hands. Ditto for magic items. I want you to live and die based on your own choices. As a player, I...

D&D 3.x 3.5 is the REAL reason everyone is angry

I once had a player ask me what a dire walrus was. The answer, of course, is a dire bear with a swim speed. :)

D&D 3.x 3.5 is the REAL reason everyone is angry

I'm just surprised that people pay attention to what Wizards' PR guys say. I wasn't mad about 3.5 because it was an improvement I was willing to shell out for. I'm not mad about 4e for the same reasons. I buy the books for the product, not the PR. I don't care if the PR whips his todger out...
