    From R&C: Fighters & Armor

I don't think it's bad design. The new system uses powers to give everyone more tactical options, and D&D is going to retain classes, so those powers have to be split up amongst the classes. Seems perfectly logical to me.

Sorry, I have this weird thing where if someone quotes something I presume they're then going to respond to it.

    From R&C: Fighters & Armor

This is what passes for an argument? Whatever I said about 4e must be true because I'm not going to play 4e?

    From R&C: Fighters & Armor

I'll try it again. You can still make that rounded warrior, but he's going to have to be a ranger/fighter multiclass. Why are people still roaming around with a sack full of 3e presumptions? You aren't going to get all of your character abilities defined by your class anymore. There are...

Yeah, I've got one thing to add to this conversation. Multiclass.

If not magic items, then what?

The movement is not against bad things happening Lanefan, it's against things which disengage the player and result in his having nothing to do. The new DMG isn't going to have a section which counsels you to remove adversity from the lives of your players as the GM. As both a GM and a player...

    For the first time... apprehension

Being a serious WOW player, the root of the argument comes down to two things. 1) The connections between World of Warcraft and 4e are either imaginary, or flow from 3rd to WOW, rather than the other way around and 2) there are people of all ages and demographics playing WOW. It got those big...

    Design & Development: Elite Bulette

As much as I'd like too, let's not divert this into a discussion on the role of the GM.

    So what about the everyman?

I don't know. If I was gonna do the everyman thing, I'd probably use the Unknown Armies system(less firearms of course). Short dangerous combats, a fleshed out madness system with a variety of stimuli, and a super simple resolution system. Plus, you can just skip xp entirely, as I have in a...

PCs and Monsters being different - Classes?

But we already know that monsters and monster PCs are handled with two different systems.

It's like the 'new' World of Darkness was for me.

Given that you just told us that there are huge swaths of unexplored Ebberon, they don't have to change anything, just explore the parts they didn't before.

    Warlocks = evil?

If warlock abilities can still be inherited, there's absolutely no need for any sort of alignment restriction on them. If they have to have made the pact themselves, the only thing required to make a good warlock is hubris.

Have "cross-class" skill deliniations finally been removed?

I'm sure cross class is gone, as in SW Saga, but I've hear what I think is a good fix for it. Bonus trained skills from intelligence are not restricted to your class list. That makes things nicely flexible, I think. If you wanted to go a little further, you could let everyone have one...

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept? (Keep Friendly)

Feat names really don't come up at my table. I presume that these names will be used to group feats by function while still listing them in alphabetical order, and I approve of that. Even if I disliked the Gold Wyvern name, I'd never hear it, just "I'm fireballing here and excluding this...

    Are Gognards killing D&D?

Brother Maclaren : I don't think the splats really increased the power level, at least not within the party. Primary casters rule the roost with or without them. But I don't understand why people view the splats so negatively. I personally enjoy the splats, because while I don't feel like I...

It brings Tiers to my eyes

Alright, then I'm officially confused ByronD. If a player wants to be the Royal Knower of Cheese he just takes Kno:Cheeses as a trained skill and focused skill. I presume that's as good as you're going to get in 4e, just like the best you'd get in 3e was taking max ranks and Skill Focus. I...

D&D 4E New Information on 4E Classes from Races & Classes Book

Gort : Removing iterative attacks, and in the case of TWF, double iterative attacks, should already fix that problem.
