I thought the formula is the current scale + one half your level.

How Come There Is No "Wish" Spell?

Glad it's gone. But then I should have known it was gone by the fact that XP isn't an expendable resource anymore. How could they make it a normal spell without making it lame? I'm perfectly happy with Wish being a special plot device spell.

What is the 2nd controler ?

A Druid controller would likely be playing up the summoning powers. Also, Entangle would likely be in. ;) And they could easily come up with tons of spells that manipulate the environment. You could have "disaster" spells. Flood, Earthquake, Avalanche, etc.. It seems like there are plenty of...

    Is it just me...

I don't think we honestly have enough information to say something like that. It's November, so I think they still have plenty of time. I would say they easily have four months to get a lot of work done. And, honestly, the way the rules sound right now seen to indicate that it's highly playable...

What is the 2nd controler ?

I want a daily resource ability that allows me to dash across the battlefield and trip every enemy I pass.

What is the 2nd controler ?

The Monk as an expert wrestler that ties up an enemy, and gets him to throw errant punches at his friends, or trip him on top of them. Add in some terrain manipulation and maneuverability, and good ole' stunning attack, and I think you could definitely do the Controller role.

    D&D 4E Magics Items in 4E

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm inferring...and hoping it's true. Edit: I actually like both Iron Heroes style uncommon, even dangerous, magic items and common, +5 sword-style magic items.

I think damage and attack bonus debuffs would have a Leaderish effect, but I don't know about saves (not that they couldn't have that ability, but it doesn't strike me as fitting the role exactly). Movement-based curses would be controllerish, or confusion effects, or certain conditions.

I think that's precisely what they are doing. You don't need to make a pact with Infernal forces. Even the 3rd Edition Warlock allowed for fae pacts, and there's even a redeemed Warlock PrC with a celestial flavor.

Yeah, the debuff thing sounds kind of controllerish to me. I think it depends on the type of debuff. But then I think the Controller is probably the least understood role as this point, so it's hard to tell.

I could see him being a leader if he had some sort of vampire effect to drain enemies and heal allies. In fact, that's ten kinds of awesome!

    D&D 4E Magics Items in 4E

The newest podcast has a section where it's said that the Fighter in one of the playtests still doesn't have any magic items at all. Then it's said that they didn't plan to leave magic items out like that, but if they would have thought of it they would have probably intentionally done it. That...

    A...SUPPOSITION!...regarding Goblins!

I like all those (well, in the case of eladrin, I like them to the extent it's possible, considering we don't know a lot about them). Hmm, now that I think about it, one obstacle towards including goblins would be that we already have a sneaky, dexterous, small humanoid PC race (halflings). I'm...

    Warlords Heal?

But he isn't a supernatural being. He's an extraordinary being. He's used training and skill to attain that level of badassness. He's not flush with magical power. He's simply highly skilled. I don't think this accounts for anything, either way. HP doesn't become more realistic if it's just a...

    Warlords Heal?

Think about this: being "tough" in D&D is represented with hit points. Tough characters can grit their teeth through wounds that would stop a weaker person in their tracks...in real life. If anything, I find the notion of HP representing only physical damage less believable (as if our brains...

Hey, Goblins are neutral! It's true though. Those Alliance bigots.... ;)

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

I think Int is about as important to a Warblade as Dex, but perhaps I like skills more than is normal. But it is worth noting that the Warblade's skill list is considerably better than the Fighter's.

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

I think I remember a snippet in the first roll out about a Wisdom-based Fighter. I could live with that for a start. They can always add an Int-based Fighter into the game later, perhaps as a Prestige Class.

    A...SUPPOSITION!...regarding Goblins!

Let's suppose that we don't know all the races to be in the PHB, yet. I think that's a pretty safe assumption, but perhaps not. Anyway, what about goblins? I like goblins. Or kobolds. Kobolds are cool (dog or dragon). I would be completely happy with Orcs and Goblins as PHB races. Evil can be...
