Al-Qadim: Land of Fate (5e conversion)

I love this idea, Quickleaf. I'd replace the word 'Inspiration' with 'Fate' thereby tying in the 2e idea of invoking the power of Fate without having to add a whole new mechanic. So I'm pitching Al-Qadim to my playgroup this Friday and have been working on a PowerPoint covering the main ideas...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E Podcasts?

GodsfallDC, I love your dramatic flair and (seemingly) fluid integration of skill checks when walking Dorro through the intro scene. The website is killer and I can tell you've put a lot of time into world building. Looking forward to the beginning of the campaign and wishing I still lived near DC!

    D&D 5E (2014) Vehicle combat rules for a piracy-themed campaign - suggestions?

Kinda side note: The Al-Qadim setting is a really well developed Arabian-nights-themed setting. You could consider checking that out for your campaign.

    D&D 5E (2014) Vehicle combat rules for a piracy-themed campaign - suggestions?

My PCs were being pursued by a fleet of Imperial ships commanded by the Emperor's own bastard daughter a few weeks ago. I used the Chase rules in the DMG (pg 252) as a template as well as the Siege Equipment info (pg 255) to calculate damage/range. I designed my own chase table with possible...

5th edition Spell Conversion / Creation Analysis (Needs input)

Try and see if a spell your converting has any similarities to a spell already in print. If it does, you can model its wording or effect around that. If not, just go with your gut. We can always adjust spell levels later (I know I will have to).

5th edition Spell Conversion / Creation Analysis (Needs input)

I mostly looked at 5th edition cantrips for balancing. I didn't want a re-skin of firebolt over and over so I tried to make them each feel different. If the spell dealt damage and had extra effects, they'd both be dampened; if the spell only did damage, it can be more. I think its smart to look...

5th edition Spell Conversion / Creation Analysis (Needs input)

Here's some cantrips I've converted so far. I had to change them to make them relevant and I skipped a lot of redundant ones. (Also - what's with the sexualized spells? lol) Let me know what you think...

5th edition Spell Conversion / Creation Analysis (Needs input)

Haha - that list is pretty nuts. Great work though. Do you suggest I make a new excel document for conversions?

    Wizardly Tradition: Digitalogist

Mmmmkay, this is my first post. I'm a beginner DM who's fallen in love with the new 5th edition. My PCs have been having fun in the weird Final Fantasy meets historical/mythological tradition world I've made for them but it's winding down. I've found @Quickleaf's conversion of Al-Qadim...
