    D&D 5E (2024) Martial/Caster fix.

Per wish, you don't need to meet any requirements. Though I expect that is the intention. Still, simulacrum + Wish + downtime = 10,000 GP per day and resistance to all damage, and a 90% of a martials damage. Way too powerful even without an infinite army.

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

Pretty sure you can find a place with snow and not get exhausted in 12 hours. You don't even need magic for that. Also you (or a friend) can make Tiny Hut or a Masion to stay warm. And yea, your not casting it without time anyways. Not until you get Wish.

Agreed. No DM would allow it. Or rather, I would just have a clone army attack the party first. What's works for PCs also works for players. Doing it on a level 20 rogue is very good. Not an army, but still very much worth the time and money, and in line with intended use of the spell. And...

It says you can't cast it again. That doesn't stop your clone from casting simulacrum. But I don't see any DM allowing that. And I personally wouldn't allow cloning combat abilities either.

You can by how it's written, but the intention is that you don't. Still intended that you can clone a level 20 rogue though.

Unless they would of spent 12+ hours traveling. Then you can just cast teleport and catch up. Or teleport to a cold climate, make a simulacrum, and teleport back. Most campaigns have some downtime. If not, then you basically banned the spell. "Help us in a coup d'état" is one suggestion.

Wall of force has concentration, but is still overpowered. Mass Suggestion doesn't. You can do both at the same time. Suggest that their boss isn't an ally. Or go stand in a corner while you setup a trap or whatever. Not exactly hard to find a way to kill something with 24 hour duration...

Which effectively incapacitated them while you kill off the ones that saved. What about "Follow us and make ranged attacks against your boss." ?

Maybe now. But original D&D came from wargames, not comics. If you ever played axis and allies, Germany (fighter) starts off with the most units, while American (wizards) has the least but can scale better. And that legacy still influences things (spell slot progression). If you want to do...

I don't think barbarian players want to spend 12 hours preparing.

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

The divide was intended since the original edition. Wizards where supposed to start weak and end strong, each class having their own scaling and max level, balanced over a full campaign. 3e made it worse, as they unified the levels but kept the spell scaling by class level. 5e softened that...

Yea. Again, i don't think they are overpowered until 11 or so Get a cart and do it while traveling. Wizards shouldn't be able to get 90% of a martial, ever. Including that "transform into a fighter" spell from earlier editions. Also, Wall of Force doesn't take time to prepare. Nor does Mass...

Best would be CME + Scorching Ray. But that takes your 2 big spells and does appropriately big damage. Dunno why that would be unplayable. Warcaster and Spell Sniper. Misty step into position. Attack, nick (at -1), Eldritch blast * 3 = 5 attacks. Action surge, attack, Eldritch Blast *3 = 4...

1 Rogue and 4 wizards. Is now a party of 5 rogues and 4 wizards. Control weather. That's why i picked rogues. They can most easily deal damage while avoiding taking any. Stand in the back, hit and run. 4 wizards can lay down plenty of web and other control while 5 rogues will pick them off...

See Invisibility. Foresight. Can't sneak attack with disadvantage. Or just turn invisible yourself. Also Shield and mirror image. Good thing a level 20 wizard can cast mass suggestion 5 times, plus foresight.

Then cast Mass Suggestions first. It's an illusion that can deal 10d6 sneak attack damage every round, then reliably hide.

Then what level are you talking about. Because martials will easily beat casters at lower levels.

Cast simulacrum on a rogue. You now deal more damage than the rogue. And yes. CME is overpowered too. Sorcerer 2 / warlock 2/ Valor bard X can is like twice the damage a Barbarian can do.
