    D&D 5E (2014) Primeval Awareness?

It reads that you get specific information. If you want their location and number you should probably ask the party's tracker for that information. Now who could that be?

D&D 5E (2014) Reviews of Warlordish options - Starting with the Noble

I'll be watching for it. Probably try to get "Shrine Magic" up this weekend and then the "Mounts & Animal Companions" supplement. Both tied to Obvious Arcana. After that the "Magic" document.

D&D 5E (2014) what is it about 2nd ed that we miss?

Beautiful boxed sets that cost more to make than they were bringing in. Not having to plan out adventures for the next 5 levels because statistically you weren't going to need them. Running the same group of players through Keep on the Borderlands 4, 5, 6 times with different sets of...

D&D 5E (2014) Reviews of Warlordish options - Starting with the Noble

Although I'm hesitant to review my own offering I think I can answer the bugaboo's without being overly biased. Jolydee's Obvious Arcana - the Marshal by Jody Lee Johnson (myself) http://www.dmsguild.com/product/176929/JoLydees-Obvious-Arcana 34 pages document - 3 pages Cover and Table of...

D&D 5E (2014) Reviews of Warlordish options - Starting with the Noble

Martial Adept by Kittenhugs (Rick Johnson - no relation) http://www.dmsguild.com/product/170934/Martial-Adept-Class This 11 page document has 1 title page and just over 9 pages of Martial Adept. The layout is excellent and with 3 illustrations it could have been lifted directly from a WotC...

    D&D 5e "Avatar state"

I was thinking this was going to be about laying on a table and having your mind be in another body elsewhere - like the Astral spell. Maybe a giant blue body. Like D&D itself or Dream Park.

Fighter Archetype - Warlord by Juan Marcano http://www.dmsguild.com/product/171718/Fighter-Archetype--Warlord This 3 page document has 1 page of title and 1 1/2 pages of Warlord with the majority being the battlecries. This Fighter goes big with Charisma. Every ability is tied into Charisma...

D&D 5E (2014) Reviews of Warlordish options - Starting with the Noble

Warlord - Martial Archetype by Boltnine Homebrew http://www.dmsguild.com/product/170957/Warlord--Martial-Archetype This is a simple slightly less than a page Fighter subclass. For comparison it feels like the same amount of content it takes to present the Champion fighter. 5 Abilities at 3rd...

D&D 5E (2014) Reviews of Warlordish options - Starting with the Noble

The Noble – EN World En5ider Article “Chessmasters & Commanders” Available on In5ider. No direct link. This document has the formatting of an article but is principally 6 pages of pure rules crunch with 3 pieces of art. The Noble class is an interesting design as it has very minimal abilities...

    D&D 5E (2014) GWM/SS alternative mechanics to the -5/+10 bonus?

I wouldn't use a version that raised the stat cap and required an optimizer to spend yet another ASI on increasing their DPS.

    D&D 5E (2014) Song of Rest Abuse?

I believe the "Combining Games Effects" errata to DMG p252 covers this. The same class ability doesn't stack.

D&D 5E (2014) Considering Dual Wielder Feat change proposals

Martial arts is worded that when you use an unarmed strike or attack with a weapon you can make the bonus action unarmed strike. I would rule that to exclude any kind of alternate two weapon fighting that doesn't use the bonus action. Flurry of Blows only says 'take the attack action' so it...

D&D 5E (2014) Considering Dual Wielder Feat change proposals

I can see your point from a simulationist viewpoint, but that's not what I imagine here. So what is the +2 from Duelist style representing? You make all your weapons grow an extra foot so they do similar damage to Greatweapons? It's mechanical, using both weapons makes more effective...

D&D 5E (2014) Considering Dual Wielder Feat change proposals

Depends on what you want to accomplish. Options seem to me (all of which are valid): 1. Do nothing 2. Change through feats, or spells, or class ability 3. Combine the two weapon dice (the most powerful, and keeps TWF's superiority across levels) 4. The +d4 method which won't work as well...

D&D 5E (2014) Considering Dual Wielder Feat change proposals

Just for clarity, how does this interact with Extra Attack? Dual Wielding only falls behind with Extra Attack. If you only get one per Extra Attack action, then the potential max is the same, but it raises the floor. It doesn't help OAs, or extra attacks like Haste or Ranger Hunter. -...

    Binding and Ally as rituals?

Planar Ally takes 10 minutes to cast and Planar Binding takes an hour to cast so in that sense they look like rituals when cast. But in the 5e paradigm of Ritual spells being cast at will - um no. Probably just me but the flavor of Warlock is that they are bound by planar entities, not that...

    Chain Devil Crazyness

For some reason I think the default duration is a day if there isn't one listed and not permanent. Not sure where I read that. Maybe Twitter or buried somewhere in the DMG.

D&D 5E (2014) Running a 5th edition game where magical healing is rare.

We're halfway to finishing Out of the Abyss with a no magic healing party. Barely miss it. I just don't see a big difference between "We rest an hour" and "We rest a week" at the table. 4 syllables and the "rest" is done.
