I will remind you though that things like tigers, boars, brown bears, etc... represented a danger, a serious danger, for the common 'middle age' fighter of the world. Or a pack of smaller animals, like wolves. A knight could very well die against a big adult boar...

I am not so attached to the tolkienesque vision, so I want to divorce them a bit more - plus, hugely long lifespan are kind of... for me, they should be reserved for entities like dragons.

I'm not so opposed to racial weapons.. I means, we, humans, made weapons along our biology and morphology. If a race was fudnamentaly quite different, like the three-kreens, wouldn't it possibily made distinct weapons that may account for such differences and use it at their advantage maybe?

Personaly, on that account, I 'shadowruned' a bit and cut the lifespan of the longer-living races... One milenium for an elf, nah...

Cleric/Wizard - because I'd like to see a scholar of the esoteric and mystic, and workable.

And I means, not necessarly tripling the hp, but perhaps reviewing the hp rates a bit would be good,... at least.

Newbies we want, not porcelaine pots. It could be also argued the reverse.... very, very few survives at later level - more power. more opposition, more danger. I'd rather loose a guy after a few levels than at start, more fun.

Not so realist as you thin k - an human is harder to kill than you may think. And this is fun for you, or a saddistic DM - not for the players. My idea is that lethality should remains in D&D - but toned down. Perhaps like the first few levels... and then you rise the danger level. It's not...

Sorry, but while the begginers should be amateurs, and well, beginners - they should not be necessarly so goddang easy to take out.
