What's the best online map alternative till D&D Insider?

I've been playing with maptool, and I notice it still counts diagonals 1212, and it's making vision circular... I don't suppose there's any way to change those things?

    D&D 4E Is infiltration/misdirection possible in 4E?

And because the guard will likely be noticed, the wizard better have "Disguise Self" prepared so he can continue the guard's routine while the rest of the party moves along (carrying a corpse).

Experience Point Weirdness: Is my math funny or theirs?

I'm pretty sure they did it so they could get round numbers and to get to 1000000 XP for level 30, in addition to the big bumps at Paragon and Epic tiers.

Stealth in combat. Evidence and advice.

You can be hidden from some enemies and not from other. xxxxxxxxx 1234WYxx5 xxxxxxxxx The wall hides you from 1, 2, 3, 4. You beat their perception checks. But you're not hidden from 5.

Tenser's Floating Disk. Better than Knights Move?

As an advantage to the player, you can state that the disk moves at a running pace. And then, as further advantage, you can state that it doesn't set off pressure plate traps. Then, as a disadvantage, you can string piano wire across the passage and cut the PC's head off.

What kind of PC game do you want from 4E?

Something like Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale. At least in the way it looks and with the GUI. Something that runs like Fallout when it comes to combat, with extra options for powers and suchlike that Fallout didn't really have. Which option is most like that? I find NWN way to clunky in combat...

Targeting "closest enemy" with curses, powers

Yeah, but it's a minor action to put on the glasses, a minor action to curse, and a minor action to take them off. :P And it's not "The closest enemy you see", it's "The closest enemy you can see" (emphasis mine). Thus, though you aren't seeing the enemy right now, you would be able to see...

    Calculating Damage

The weapon's enhancement is applied to all attack or damage rolls made using that weapon. Things like sneak attack, hunter's quarry, etc are all added after you've rolled damage, at the player's discretion.

Stealth in combat. Evidence and advice.

A warlock multiclassing to ranger could train stealth... and get to add hunter's quarry once per turn. Mean!

    Coupe de Grace: auto hit?

I'm thinking the reason "helpless" has a -5 to defenses is because you can be rendered helpless during combat, when people attacking you don't necessarily have time to set up a perfect, deadly attack. In the case of the sleeping giant, there's nothing to distract the PCs, so the attacks hit...

Remember that, having moved three squares, the warlock is going to get a -5 to his stealth roll.

    Critting with a Vorpal Weapon?

When you crit with a vorpal weapon, you do max damage for each die, then you do an additional +1d12 per plus of the weapon.

Stealth in combat. Evidence and advice.

There's a thread with answers from WotC's support that say that when you gain concealment from the Warlock's shadow walk, that you can stealth immediately as part of that. You can stealth as part of any action, so long as you end with cover/concealment. Remember, that if you succeed in your...
