    Hestavar: The Bright City

I'm a little bit disappointed to see it looking like that. In the interest of returning monsters to their mythological Roots, I'd very much like to see the Erynies become an Angel, rather than the poor-man's-succubus that it was before.

    Feywild/Shadowfell Campaign Settings

Count me as another one in the group that wants to see much more inner-planar material without having an actual setting. In particular, I want a Faerie Book in the style of the Draconomicon or Open Grave. And a MotP 2 sounds lovely.

What the Dorruh are you doing to my Eberron?

I love the world Axis--I was excited about the new planar model when I first read about it, and the Manual of the Planes was the 4e supplement that I was (and still am) most excited about. But I still think that grafting Eberron into the world axis model is a big mistake. See, I like the world...

    Art Recycling

Starwed, does it bother you that many of the spells in the 3e phb were copy/paste jobs from previous editions? And count me among those who don't really mind the re-used art. As someone who owned only five 3e books, every piece of art in 4th edition is new to me.

    What happened with true one-shots?

Yeah, second the DCI thing -- find out if there's an official magic league in your area, and try to get cards from them.

Open grave Excerpt: Demilich (and other lich lore)

Given that Acererak has his own write-up later in the book, I expect that this is your garden-variety demilich, and you'll get a higher-level version for your tomb of horrors goodness.

    Air bubble in dice-affecting rolls?

Hmm. Interesting Video. Casino dice are flung across the table, though--I'm not sure that the average roll of a sharp-edged d6 at a D&D table is going to provide enough kinetic energy to randomize the result (or at least, not without knocking over some miniatures along the way).

    Even Orcish is Logical!

Ah, nahuatl, how I love you so. Can your players pronounce the dragon's name?

    Warforged/Genasi Origin Stories

That's not really fair. The Canonical origin story for WF is "Wizard did it". For people who are familiar with the FR or Eberron settings, coming up with this stuff would be no sweat. For people who aren't, though, it's nice that they provide a way to tie your character background with the...

    D&D 4E D&D 4th edition lord of the rings?

I'd allow eladrin back in--Even LotR has the high elf/wood elf split. Though their racial power could probably use changing. What about reserving magic for multiclassing only, rather than abandoning it entirely. That lets you have the "I don't actually cast that many spells" LotR wizard...

    Faeries teleport?

Space and time simply don't work for the fey quite the same way they do for us.

    Are Monster templates necessary?

Actually, the DM does jump out and say all kobolds have shifty--it's in the back. Only does that for about 12 races, though

    Jerry's a roller

Though I could care less for seinfeld impressions, The comic that comes immediately before this one is great. Now I'm happily reading the Archives.

What formed your idea of what D&D is to you?

I can't say that I'm horribly nostalgic for my old highschool D&D games--They were fun, but I have just as much fun playing D&D today. They definitely helped shape my definition of D&D, though. We didn't pay that much attention to the rules, and consequently, I think my understanding of D&D is...

    The Tomb of Myth

Also, anyone who suggests that cartoons and superheroes aren't mythology needs to get smacked in the face with a Joseph Campbell book or something.

    4E Paragon Tier Adventure/Campaign ideas?

Alright. The big thing that you need is a villain and his plan. My advice is to comb through the monster manual in the level 18-22 range, and see if there's a creature in there that sparks your interest as a BBEG. That Deathpriest Hierophant seems promising--and if you're planning on buying...

    Half-Elves, yes? Why not Half-Dwarves?

I kinda felt that these two canceled each other out. That said, I think that the changes King-Panda made balance them out a bit better. (Though I think the language in shrug it off could be cleaned up a bit) The original Mul in Darksun couldn't speak dwarven only common and one other of...

Not an Enless Quest book, but something similar

I don't remember what the line was called, but TSR also published a line of two-player choose your own adventure games. Each player had their own book, and sort of acted as the DM for the other player.

    Challenge: Balanced Stealthy Party

My advice is to use the optional rules for character backgrounds from dragon magazine (They're also in the Character builder beta if you don't have the magazine in question). Those will provide options for non-stealth-based characters to aquire stealth, while granting additional goodies to the...

Monetary Treasure - Does it scale with the size of the party?

The short version is that a smaller sized party does get more gold per person than a larger party, but it also gets fewer magic items per person. For example, a party of five will find four magic items a level (or .8 magic items/character), but a party of two will only find one magic item per...
