    Need crazy girlfriend input

Egg on some young man of appropriate social stature to become Romeo to her as Juliet. Maybe, if he is persistent, she will lock herself in her room until the bodyguards show him down to the end of the block. How long does the party need her to stay out of their hair?

A symbiotic pair being referred to as plural makes perfect sense. There are two people in that body.

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

An erase does have the unfortunate tendency to just disappear off the written page.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

If I were in a southern Africa government, I would have announced an inbound travel ban except for medical personnel, and shut off outbound travel until I can figure out who has what. Nobody else is going to have the resources to help me out if they get inundated with their own problems at home.

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

Playable Myconids for the mushroom / fungus race. Oddball anthropomorphs: porcupine-folk (re-fluff the Cactoid?) skunk-folk: Troglodyte Stench plus Claws. And "rough drafts" of iconic races from not-yet-released settings - such as Thri-Kreen from Dark Sun.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Update to an old post: I have been making payments on my school loans, even though they are in Forbearance, to take advantage of 0% interest rates. I just paid off the second of three loans. With the extra cash this frees up, I should be able to finish off the last loan (even with interest...

D&D General War! What is it Good For (in your campaigns)?

One LFR Battle Interactive involved what was supposed to be an army storming a Revived Netheril castle. IRL there were only 2 tables, so it turned into more of a 007 infiltration feel. Very good mission for PCs to take the lead and carry the day.

AD&D 1E What are examples of "gotchya" encounters from Gary Gygax?

Mimics ... DM: You enter a plain room with a comfy-looking chair. PC: I sit down on the chair and ... DM: -picks up d20- The chair grows teeth and bites you !

D&D 5E (2014) Swimming, Breathing, and Drowning... (ruling question)

While playing HotDQ, my CON 16 Paladin jumped into a lake (to rescue our Rogue from drowning) while wearing full plate. Fortunately we had a large group that night and I had time to work out the rules and the math between her turn and when my turn came up. The rest of the group pulled us back...

A lot of students would run out of classes to take and would have to graduate. Maybe before going hopelessly into debt. Would that be a silver lining?

(+) Gaming in historical settings and dealing with values of the era

Black Death engulfs Medieval Europe, the PCs are in its path, and that section of the 1e DMG gets some actual use. (That kind of campaign ceased being interesting to me ... just under two years ago now. We have to IRL a distorted variant.)

Tabaxi: yes Tiefling pseudo-satyr: yes Kobold: no (need to review Tasha and then Volo before I try to) I've also played a Shifter in a prematurely ended campaign.

(+) Gaming in historical settings and dealing with values of the era

Yes. It is a quick brush-off, not a considered conclusion, to think "Everything before me was all bad." You (as DM or as player or as group) can choose to emphasize the awful, or choose to emphasize the hopeful, or a mixture of both. Indeed, based on historical examples, if you want to change...
