Darksun TSR sales! From Benjamin Riggs.

If that chart were to be extended to 2020, would there be a noticeable bump in sales? (I helped)

D&D General 7 Wonders of the Natural World(s)

4e Forgotten Realms: The Plateau of Thay Now a mile high and hundreds of square miles big, with a thin ring of earthmotes scattered about from the powerful geomantic magic released. Several spectacular waterfalls go over the sheer edges of the mega-mesa. One road (well-defended) has been...

D&D 5E (2024) The Half Orc. Are they still needed?

    Peacocks / peahens?

D&D 5E (2014) Water Walk on the Elemental Plane of Water

Depends on how big the bubble is. You might see a visual haze that fuzzes into the distance. I think of the Elemental Plane of Air like Larry Niven's Smoke Ring novels, and the Plane of Water similar but all wet all over instead.

D&D 5E (2024) The Half Orc. Are they still needed?

i decided to create an Arcane Trickster / Trickery Cleric. The only race that let me get a + modifier to all the relevant checks and spell saves was Gnome. That is the only Gnome character I've ever played. Nothing against Gnomes, just that my ideas for 'a fun character' run in other directions.

Jamison Stone & Satine Phoenix's Apotheosis Studio To Wind Down [UPDATED]

I'm going to have to send in another Invoice for the fee to take the course on what you consider a correct Invoice. Plus you still owe me for the older Invoice you are attempting to dispute with the phrase "correctly". And you may be getting an updated corrected Invoice for...

EN World What you thought a thread title said.

From a long time ago: "The Chronicles of Narcissist" This was during the 2016 US election cycle, and the "No Politics" rule was relaxed. I never read a word of it (because blood pressure, yeah that's it) but I thought the title had humor.

D&D 5E (2024) The Half Orc. Are they still needed?

"What about human/dwarf?" The D&D half-human / half-dwarf is a Mul. Its Dark Sun background material creates a place for 'broken family' backstories.

D&D 5E (2024) The Half Orc. Are they still needed?

Playable orcs, instead of the earlier "orc = monster and always-evil", took over the half-orc's niche but that has not been fully digested yet. I do not see a crunch reason to keep both orc and half-orc character races, and the fluff reasons are being edited away steadily.

    D&D 5E (2024) Perfect edition update (kinda + thread)

A usable Index that locates, not conceals, information. 4e-style monster 'job descriptions' (lurker, artillery, &c). Separate fluff and crunch in spell descriptions. (Class features too.) The crunch should be written to clearly describe how the spell works.

D&D 5E (2014) What terminology would you expect from Modrons?

Yes, affirmation, good, and orderly are synonyms. Anything disorderly or chaotic is hard to describe, involving constructions like not-orderly and not-predictable. Sometimes you might get a 1984 Newspeak-like grammar: good, plus-good, ungood.

    If you had a robot…

In practice, I probably not be as polite with a speaking robot as with a person. But I would not be trying to be actively rude to the robot.

D&D 5E (2014) Critical Hits and damage - What do you do?

We do this: Add the max that your dice could roll, plus static mods, plus roll the dice. Someday somebody at our table will create a Paladin/Rogue, set up the Sneak Attack conditions, roll a crit, and add a Smite - and one powerful monster will die instantly.

Wizards of the Coast Employees Walk Out Over Hasbro's 'Tone-Deaf' Response to Overturning of Roe v. Wade

To the best of my knowledge, the "tone deaf response" was that neither Hasbro nor WotC had a press release ready when the Dobbs decision was announced, and they did not hastily create one. Somebody in Washington State, or more plugged-in than I, may know more.

D&D 5E (2014) Is Rime of the Frostmaiden the deadliest 5e campaign (probable spoilers)?

If you as DM keep track of cold weather exposure rules and track food supplies while travelling, FrostMaiden will kill PCs without needing any monsters or combat.

    D&D 5E (2014) [+] Gunslinger Rogue

At L3 the PC gets as equipment a hand crossbow version of the special 6-shot light crossbow from Out of the Abyss, and knows how to adapt purchased hand crossbows. This special modification requires a lot of maintenance, taking about as much time every day as a Wizard studying his spellbook...

    How much for a prostitute?

Run this idea past your group; it may sound like hogging the spotlight. If your campaign features lots of downtime between adventures, the DM can review the section on lifestyle levels and adapt the 'self-supporting ranger' section.

    Prehistoric Planet

David Attenborough (on land) and Jacques Cousteau (underwater) is who I expect to hear narrating any nature documentary.

D&D General Is there a published adventure set during the Elf/Drow split?

Grand History of the Realms (a book of timelines) also covers the Crown Wars. I also know of no adventures set in the pre-Descent period, but with the two books mentioned you would know enough to adapt the heroes / villains found in another adventure module (or two).

    D&D 5E (2014) i wanna make a Gunslinger vampire/demon hunter

The adventure Out of the Abyss has a city where the Guards all have a 6-bolt magazine on their Light Crossbows. Do that with a Hand Crossbow, take the Crossbow Expert feat, and buy silvered bolts. If you plan primarily to blast the evil into oblivion.
