D&D 5E (2024) The Undead Army Necromancer is not Designable

Are you saying that Prestige class shouldn't exist in the game?

It might be disruptive, to certain playstyles, especially if pushed hard in a selfish way. You are assuming guaranteed disaster. Did MHP weaken the class when they ported it to DDB? I mentioned above I don't know what they did with it for 5.5. I cut ties with the company when they decided to...

They are problems though...for their playstyle and preferences.

Love it! ACKS has an optional rule that does something quite similar, and I've adapted it into my Level Up play.

This is what every game designer should be thinking IMO. Make the game you want to play.

I'd have to look at the lists again (I don't own these games), but anything emphasizing narrative beats and making everything about the PCs and their interests is potentially problematic for my play.

I'm sure it's quite welcome...to players of the game in which they appear.

I would likely not buy it, but I agree that's what they should do.

D&D General Wearing a lantern on your belt?

I remember back in nineteen-dickity-three we all wore lanterns on our belts. It was the style at the time.

Many things I prefer in gaming aren't currently (or ever) conventional wisdom. Some things are. My interest isn't in whether any given nugget of play is practiced by a lot of people or for a long time. My interest is instead about whether or not I think that nugget appeals to me and to my game...

Maybe he likes his playstyle. Is it necessary to push your desire to "retrain" gamers who play differently than you on them?

See my post above about the spectrum so many seen to ignore. Also, houseruling to make the hit point system more sim is a thing. As it turns out, there's more than one way to play traditional games.
