I am, actually (when I get to do what I want). Thanks anyway.

Yeah, lots of folks like to use hit points as an excuse to completely abandon any desire for simulation as delusional, or at best wrong-headed. No one ever seems to understand just how insulting that is, or recognize any kind of spectrum.

Do you realize you are telling me I wouldn't have any problem with Narrstivist GM restrictions if I understood them better? Do you understand how unbelievably arrogant and "holier than thou" that statement is? Besides, when you codify things you put up walls. I don't want those walls in my...

Are you saying players don't have a motivation for bad faith behavior, and GMs have less of one, based on the context I outlined? Because I think it's pretty clear that they do have said motivation, whether or not they ever act on it, or even feel it personally. It exists because of the nature...

I don't get to talk about the way I like to play and run games? I've never told anyone one style of play is objectively better or worse than another, but I also won't back down from defending my preferences, or explaining why other styles don't appeal to me. It's all preference remember?

Sounds awesome, and potentially useful for any sci-fi game. Do we have a release date?

Can you provide a description of moral line that doesn't use the words "moral line"? The definition seems pretty important to the subject at hand.

Dungeons & Dragons Shifts to Franchise Model, Dan Ayoub Named as Head

The music in streaming shows thing is about the stupidest thing I've ever experienced. At least it encourages the ownership of physical media.

Dungeons & Dragons Shifts to Franchise Model, Dan Ayoub Named as Head

I miss the old days (yeah I know, big surprise).

Do you disagree with my logic, or just the conclusions you assume I'm drawing from it?

I suppose to me a "standard" is a method agreed upon, officially or otherwise, by a majority of the people involved. It still allows for other methods. And yes, I generally don't care about what other people see as standards, unless they're in my game and we're trying to have fun together (and...

Can someone explain what "moral line" means in this context?

Is there a standard at all? And if there is, does it matter?

Some people believe that "conventional wisdom" has been moved past, others do not believe that. IMO that's all that can be fairly claimed.

I think you're using a considerable amount of hyperbole in your rhetoric (a tactic I'm personally not fond of, but I digress). GMs and players in traditional games have different roles with different degrees of power over the game. A GM has less motivation to act in bad faith I think, because...

Dragonlance has been a setting for several versions of D&D, all of which have death rules. Unless you're talking about the original module run, which is so railroady that to me it barely counts as a game, more like a Choose Your Own Adventure book (one where none of the choices lead to a bad...

Generally no, but only because my players disagree with me on this issue. I rarely get to run a game completely the way I want. Still believe in the principle though.

I've already accepted that this clearly the designer intent of 5e. But the rules don't prevent PCs from being affected, and thus it's not even a houserule (not that I have any problem with houserules) for it to do so.

To be fair, can I assume your comment on "assuming good faith on the part of the GM" is theoretical for you? Because the impression you've given historically is quite the opposite. Unless you've changed your mind?

Come on man. You know you can't just make claims for the whole community like that. You can say you used to feel that way and now you don't, but that's about it. At least, that statement is very vulnerable to challenge.
