CODEX ARCANA, I like the idea, and I did this back in 2nd edition D&D, with the help of a dragon magazine that also had power components that could be used to alter spells, like dragon horns, bones, blood from a medusa, hair from a giant, etc
I played WOW for like a day or two, but absolutely hated the cartoon graphics and other nonsense, i never liked raids so i like solo when it comes to games, also didn't wow put out an abomination of a pen-and-paper game version of wow. I liked the older BG1 and 2 pool, and most the rest up and...
man did you miss the point, a fighter or other as you said with the things you stated would be like a person taking a course in medical training and having a first aid kit. Compared to a combat medic with years of experience and a full array of tools at his disposal, the two are not the same no...
I see shapes in clouds as well don't make them real whatever I perceive to see, we are all human and are imperfect but given that we can make things greater than those that create
This sounds interesting, as in the old 1st edition it required training to advance and gold and sometimes you couldn't pass the test which caused longer training and more gold. If you added a random table for what issues you could have doing this would make for some interesting role-play.
I did a conversion of the old sanctuary random tables for city encounters, and converted them to 5e, i believe i posted them on here somewhere, in the home brew section.
How about we stop trying to give every class spell options and focus on what the class is about, ranger is about nature, survival, and animal companions. the environment and knowing how to get around in it, tracking foraging and wild beasts and such. The druid is more a spell caster healer and...
WOW thought i was the only one who sees the warlock as problematic as his patron holds control over him as he is given power but in the game doesn't seem to be any drawback. I enforce this in my games, so want to have the fiend patron then well your radiate evil and are detected as such no...
these don't impress me, like many things each time they lose more of what they have to the point that the ranger is just a woodland fighter now, and in the past, they were far more, they were guides and survivalists of the wilds. Oh well.
The wizard summons the energy to cast prepared spells he has written in his book, this means the energy needs to be used for something that equates to the power summoned. So evocations are powerful and quite easy to exchange whereas more complex memorized spells' energies are not so much...
My biggest adventure started with a group trying to help a drunk gnome find a magical mushroom to brew a powerful potion to grant magical abilities. The gnome had stepped out of a magical portal near the group and said there you are are you ready to find the magical mushroom. The group at the...
To be honest this can be done in any sci-fi game, it is just a matter of the game master being creative enough to pull it off, maybe a mechanic would be ok here but don't see a point of an entire game built around this. I have run sci-fi misfit games like this many times and it only works if the...
"2e the edition with "immortals" that allowed for you to become gods?" no it was not i suggest going back and reading the books as it would take far too long to explain it here. And I am not just saying the books but the revisions made as well second edition had players options and other powers...
