D&D General Rangers should be built on a primary and secondary stat

I agree. If they did work on D&D Beyond, everyone would be using Laser Llama's work in their campaigns instead of WoTC's stuff. ;)

D&D General Rangers should be built on a primary and secondary stat

This Ranger subclass from Level Up comes close to characters such as Hawkeye and Green Arrow, but without the aid of magic. https://a5e.tools/node/3749

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

And Robin Hood is basically a Rogue (Scout). :)

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

In The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Aragorn along with Legolas and Gimli traveled the Paths of the Dead in order to release the ghosts there from their curse should they come to Gondor's aid. Which they did. As for Davy Crockett, Robin Hood, and Owen Grady, they don't exactly fit...

D&D General Rangers should be built on a primary and secondary stat

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

5e should have kept 4e's Primal Magic because the magic of the Druid and the Ranger still deals with spirits, the fey, and the elements. Quoting geology textbooks is something a wizard would do as Arcane Magic deals with the sciences.

D&D General Rangers should be built on a primary and secondary stat

So, what would each of the Rogue's four archetype level cover with regards to a Rogue (Ranger)? The Rogue gets them at levels 3,9,13, and 17. That might not be enough. If the Ranger was a Fighter subclass, it would basically be the druidic equivalent of the Eldritch Knight.

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

That sounds rather odd to me. A Wizard training a character to be a Ranger. Which D&D novel is this character in?

What Do You Call This Popular Beverage?

Most of the soft drinks you get from a soda fountain start out as a flavored syrup or syrup concentrate. It's then mixed with CO2 and purified water. So, you aren't too far off. ;) Now I have to wonder which of the many maple syrups out there in RL would make a good soft drink. :p Log Cabin? ;)

    Metal School

When I saw the title to this thread, my immediate thought was it was going to be about a school of metal magic for 5e. Kind of like the one in the Arcane Elemental schools of magic in Pathfinder. ;) The bardic College of Heavy Metal?

What Do You Call This Popular Beverage?

What got me started on the other flavors of Mountain Dew was when Pepsi came out with the first two Mountain Dew Kickstart flavors- Fruit Punch and Orange Citrus. They showed up at my workplace one day and piqued my interest enough in giving them a try. The Fruit Punch one tasted like a...

What Do You Call This Popular Beverage?

It's hard to pick just one flavor of Mountain Dew and honestly declare it your favorite. ;) Sometimes you just want to try them all.

    D&D General Have Some Class

Laser Llama does happen to have four elemental subclasses for the Sorcerer. Emberheart, Stoneblood, Stormsoul and Waveborn https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-M0neAmKuCAae2IV1iJw I am more familiar with the Elementalist class from the Manual of Adventurous Resources: Complete by Purple Martin Games.

    D&D 5E (2014) Which 5e Should I Propose to My Group? [Updated]

True. The next question would be, by how much.

    D&D 5E (2014) Which 5e Should I Propose to My Group? [Updated]

More complex than 5e, less complex than PF2. Complexity is a Goldilocks thing. For some of us, Level Up is just right. ;)
