    D&D 5E (2014) Which 5e Should I Propose to My Group? [Updated]

Level Up doesn't even come near the level of complexity found in either 1st or 2nd edition Pathfinder. And it certainly doesn't look like Pathfinder in terms of game mechanics.

    D&D 5E (2014) Which 5e Should I Propose to My Group? [Updated]

Level Up is a crunchier version of 5e. It uses the same game mechanics as 5e does, but with some needed fixes.

    Should PCs Be Exceptional?

Not special, just one of several that a player can choose from if they were playing in Level Up. ;)

    The Enterprise through the ages

The USS Titan (Captain Riker), the USS Aventine (Captain Ezri Dax), and the USS Excalibur (Captain Mackenzie Calhoun) to name a few. ;)

    D&D General Have Some Class

Which version of the Kineticist did you happen to like? There are the two that were officially created by Paizo for both PF1 and PF2. But there were also the versions that were created for PF1 and PF2 by Legendary Games. curious Of the four, I liked this one...

    Should PCs Be Exceptional?

Before Destiny came around and made your character willingly or unwillingly become an adventurer, your character would probably see themselves as being like everyone else in their hometown, tribe or city. They would not see themselves being exceptional compared to those around them. Someone else...

    The Enterprise through the ages

Being defiant here, I see. ;) Nothing wrong with that. There are other Starfleet vessels that are just as noteworthy as the Enterprise. They're just off-camera, you see.

What Do You Call This Popular Beverage?

Most of my family drinks Coke. I prefer Mountain Dew and have tried out its' various flavors (Voltage, Livewire, etc.) over the years.

What Do You Call This Popular Beverage?

It looks like a Mountain Dew float. With a cherry on the side.

What Do You Call This Popular Beverage?

I have tasted Coke before, but what makes it different from a Pepsi?

What Do You Call This Popular Beverage?

Until proven otherwise, I would say it's a Coke. ;)

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

A ranger is more likely to have been taught as an apprentice to an older ranger or a druid on the ways of the wild than to learn in the halls of academia about nature.

    Do You Care About Cosmology?

Here is an Asian take on the Inner Planes a friend of mine introduced to me twelve years ago: A quick glance at Wikipedia reveals to me that there are two different interaction systems: one "generating", in which one element creates another, and one "overcoming," in which one element...

D&D 5E (2024) Best 5.5 Mechanic They Should Use More IMHO

That sounds like it would require the monster to come up with its' own combat tradition, one built on countering one or more other maneuvers from another combat tradition. This is probably why martial PCs are proficient in more than one combat tradition. The better to keep the monsters guessing...

    D&D 5E (2024) Psion Class: Green/Yellow/Red?

More of everything, I hope. :) New elements, new augments, new adaptations...

Tell Me About Your Experiences Joining an Existing Gaming Group/TTRPG Campaign

Before I had joined my group back in June 2021, I had been friends with the DM for about 13 years. He knew of my interest in RPGs such as D&D and Pathfinder. So, he had invited me and another friend of ours into his group, which he had been DMing for the last three years. No sooner had I agreed...

    Do You Care About Cosmology?

Okay, that would also work for me as there are a number of Sorcerer subclasses that could be tied to a particular plane in Eberron's Cosmology. A person born within a manifest zone to Kythri could become a Wild Magic Sorcerer, while a person born within a manifest zone to Mabar could become a...

    Do You Care About Cosmology?

If a person was born within a manifest zone, would that same planar influence result in the birth of a planetouched individual?

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

It ought to be where everyone can prepare a number of spells per long rest that is equal to their ability score modifier (INT, WIS or CHA) plus 1/2 their class level (rounded down). That way, you aren't stuck with a spell that has lost its' effectiveness or was previously a bad choice on your...
