Level Up doesn't even come near the level of complexity found in either 1st or 2nd edition Pathfinder. And it certainly doesn't look like Pathfinder in terms of game mechanics.

Level Up is a crunchier version of 5e. It uses the same game mechanics as 5e does, but with some needed fixes.

That sounds like it would require the monster to come up with its' own combat tradition, one built on countering one or more other maneuvers from another combat tradition. This is probably why martial PCs are proficient in more than one combat tradition. The better to keep the monsters guessing...
