    Free League Year Zero Engine

I tried T2k4e; the system didn't do well in a long campaign due to the limited number of skills and limited number of possible improvements. The combat system is not terribly intuitive, as the 'fast and slow action are not readily translated into PC actions. It was OK, but I won't use it again.

Diamond Distributors Asks Bankruptcy Court For Ownership of Publishers' Consignment Inventory [UPDATED]

That's not how it works. Firstly, legal fees would just be another burden, and secondly, the court will require efficient transformation of assets into cash. In bankruptcies, the courts tend favor lenders.

    LLMs as a GM

LLM/AI is at the stage video games were in 1990. They were fun, but not a serious challenger to TTRPGs or traditional war games played F2F. 35 years later, video games are huge and still growing, and online gaming is steadily gaining traction.

Diamond Comic Distributors Files Bankruptcy, Sells Alliance Game Distributors

I wasn't intending to call you out, just being a bit pedantic.

    LLMs as a GM

To be honest, AI players are my dream. No scheduling issues, no need to vet.

Diamond Distributors Asks Bankruptcy Court For Ownership of Publishers' Consignment Inventory [UPDATED]

It is not to keep the distributor in business, it is to extract as many funds as possible, with which to pay creditors.

Diamond Distributors Asks Bankruptcy Court For Ownership of Publishers' Consignment Inventory [UPDATED]

Because they will have, or be operating under the threat of, a court order to liquify all assets as efficiently as possible. Failure to do so will open them as specific individuals for a charge of contempt of court, and in many states, fraud. The two reality TV stars recently pardoned are...

Diamond Distributors Asks Bankruptcy Court For Ownership of Publishers' Consignment Inventory [UPDATED]

In the USA, in most states, the court sides with creditors. While Diamond will liquidate the inventory, they will not keep the money except for certain overhead costs; the bulk will go to creditors, with institutions with outstanding loans generally getting first shot at compensation. The...

Diamond Comic Distributors Files Bankruptcy, Sells Alliance Game Distributors

That math is terribly off: his book retails for $59, meaning a thousand books for him is $24,000-30,000, not 'hundreds of thousands of dollars'.

    VTT large-scale units

The token Rab created was perfect; in fact, I'm going to use it. Now I'm trying to reverse engineer it with another token, and I'm done. Its not a large engagement.

    VTT large-scale units

I use Roll20. I'm not familiar with image editors, but I'm going to give it a go.

    VTT large-scale units

Could you explain 'snap'. This word is not known to my people.

    VTT large-scale units

I'm looking at a larger-scale fantasy action in a few weeks, and I need a way to depict formed units. I could use a single token, but that lacks dramatic flair. I have modern markers (below), but my google-fu has failed me, and I can't find anything similar for a fantasy setting. Any...

    VTT/online-play Etiquette and Horror Stories

We don't use video because I feel its a waste of bandwidth, and plus several of us don't have cameras, so the clothing policy isn't a issue for me, but I would see how it could be. We roll VTT dice only. My very first online session, I was a player, and one of the group proceeded to eat his...

    Aging and Gaming

I just post written descriptions. Not because of age, but because inevitable one player missed something, and has to be brought up to speed, or we get two different interpretations/recollections of what I said. So I just put a decription of the room or area (when needed) into a info dot on the...

WotC 3% Of Hasbro's Workforce Laid Off

I've been hearing gloom & doom since I was a kid and we had drills in grade school where we trooped down into the basement to practice for when the nukes flew. 'When', not 'if'. There was an impending ice age predicted back then, and oil was due to run out in the distant date of 2000. Oh, and...
