    Free RPG Day 2025 Offerings

Good to hear that there are still FLGS. Last I checked, I'm 3+ hours from the nearest here.

I think they lack a comprehensive cleavage rule system.

WotC 3% Of Hasbro's Workforce Laid Off

Odds are, they never will. The core reasons their situation was bad in, say, 1970, are still true, and often worse, today. At least during the Cold War they could get aid based on their strategic positioning, but that's long gone.

Ivan Van Norman Leaves Darrington Press

Not officially, but it is inevitable in the years to come.

WotC 3% Of Hasbro's Workforce Laid Off

Yeah. Even if the trade war persists, I don't think American children are going to lack entertainment hardware anytime soon.

The shelves are overflowing where I'm at.

Not really. Their warehouse staff are not well-paid.

They certainly plan to replace warehousing jobs with robots. Wal Mart just expanded drone deliver to three additional states, and is openly challenging Amazon in that regard.

Something to vent out ,the story of how a vampire romance broke a west march server.

As a GM, I come down on the side of any fellow GM hoping to get some romance.

How do you handle jewelry and valuable art as a GM?

A reminder than in RL, 10% of actual value is a good price for stolen goods. Certain goods, such as gold jewelry, guns, and high-end golf clubs, will get more, and sell easily. Electronics are usually not worth lugging, with the exception of top-end game platforms. If you are selling jewelry...

How do you handle jewelry and valuable art as a GM?

I also do not have Scots or Irish in my settings. A gem is a gem, mounted or not. I think you are confusing semi-precious stone with gems. In a medieval setting, jewelry is going to be small-cast, or wire. Very light. Again, what monarchs and high nobility wears won't be what shows up in lairs.

How do you handle jewelry and valuable art as a GM?

True. But I don't put crowns in loot. They get rings, bracelets, necklaces. Post My fantasy system & settings use a silver-based economy, so the loot values are about 10% of a D&D campaign. And the tech level is later than the Viking era.

How do you handle jewelry and valuable art as a GM?

Jewelry, unless it is something really of unusual size, won't weigh more than a few grams, so weight is not an issue. As to value, I list a value in the notes, but require a 'Appraise' roll, and if the roll is failed, I give the group a reduced price for its value. Artwork is similar, but its...

    Non-fantasy RPG suggestions?

T2k4E isn't complex at all, but the rules are badly laid out. I would suggest War Stories: https://firelockgames.com/collections/war-stories

    The Entire TTRPG Hobby Post-Mortem

Go online. There are hordes of players looking for a reliable weekly game. I run obscure, even OOP settings mated to obscurer crunchy systems , and have a waiting list, and often spectators.

Replacing the system in L5R: Social Rules

I loathe D&D, but I will give it a look, because d20 to d100 is a simple conversion. Thanks!

Replacing the system in L5R: Social Rules

I have long desired to run a L5R campaign, but the cultural restrictions on PC behavior demand a group that is more mature, and the tendency for court intrigue is something that my players enjoy in only small doses. I believe I have hit on a campaign metaplot that will suit my current group...
