(A little late to this, sorry.) It's perfectly possible to have a tense game where the threat of death just isn't on the table, barring a player choosing that for themself. I'd prefer the tension to come from the threat of failure - if the Dark Lich isn't defeated quickly, the duchy will fall...

Looks like it's falling to me to be the odd man out. I prefer the second. :/

I just ditch the racial tie altogether. All PCs in my games get +2 to two different stats of their choice in place of racial modifiers.

Yeah, I'm looking into a cheap computer monitor right now, actually. So the question becomes do I use Roll20 or the iPad app I have? I'm more familiar with the app, but Roll20 would let me continue to use the iPad for non-map purposes - initiative tracking, frex.

I have all of the equipment needed to hook up my iPad to a flatscreen... Except a flatscreen. And it's a monitor out, too, so it has to be a flatscreen. Or a computer monitor.

Yeah, a giant battle mat and acrylic sheets would be great, but is a bit outside my means at the moment. That said, the "focusing down" suggestion is what I meant by "zoned" maps. Identify the area(s) where things will happen, say it takes X move to move between these two zones, and run. FWIW...

My biggest complaint with the Zeitgeist Adventure Path is not one of rules support, or of release schedule, or presentation. It is one of cartography. See, I have two BIG problems with the maps. That's one of them - they're HUGE! And the other is that they're positively beautiful. That last one...

Except in cases where the adventure was originally written in PF (#5, I think), the 4e version comes out first. Give Thurston some time to finish converting! In the meantime, keep the 4e version - the stats won't help you, but plotwise I'm sure it's almost identical.

I'm working on some custom character sheets, and for the Zeitgeist-themed one I wanted to use the font found on the covers (frex, that's used for the "From the Pen of " portion). I'm having a hell of a time identifying it, though, and all instances of it in the PDF are images so I can't just...

For themes, just rattling off some of my preferred ideas; Former Criminal Police Fey Envoy (because that's repeatedly popped up in my games) Archaeologist, or some other scholar-type thing I would like to see stuff strewn throughout the adventures for any new themes, too. Not whole subplots...

For #2; The athas.org 3e rules very likely were written pre-Sandstorm. Lack of compatibility there isn't really their fault! Just ask your GM if the Sand and Thirst domains would be okay. No one will stop him if he says yes! For #1; I'm not very familiar with the Walker in the Waste PrC... Does...

Looks like, if we get one of each of the main, side, and secret options, we'll end up with Miller's Pyre/Moral Mind/Materialists. I could dig that. They are in means, but not ends. Panarchist is basically "Colossus, but for EVERYONE!" Subtle change, very very large ramifications.

Along the lines of my earlier questions; will there be a way, such as through DriveThruCards, to get the prop card sets after the Kickstarter, or is this a one-time deal? $100 is the top of my budget right now, and while that covers the Act One cards, if we hit the Act Two cards I won't be able...
