3 settings, though we rarely get to play them much.
Homebrew fantasy drawing on many fantasy sources.
Homebrew sci-fantasy drawing on many sci-fi and space opera sources.
Supers game blending Freedom City, Marvel, DC, Wildstorm, and Champions.
I tend to play fighters (when I have the chance to be a player instead of DM that is), but even then I like to try out some of the new classes. Variety is the spice of life, but I've always been the kind of guy that likes to wade into the frontlines of combat and kick ass.
The only time any other emotion other than amusement has been exhibited at any of my games was one time one of my players got really ticked at me for pulling a really low "bastard GM" stunt. We were playing the old Seige on the Citadel Mutant Chronicles boardgame. One of the event cards allows...
I'm firmly in the give me good fluff camp for my monsters. Monsternomicon was the first monster book for 3.5 that really made the monsters feel like something more than a collection of stats. I like the treasure outlines, especially if it lists items that can be harvested from the creatures...
I didn't know about that one. Thanks for the info. However, if I got a PS2, I would also have access to that huge library of RPG's... This one will take some thought...
It's hands-down the best PA book I've ever picked up. The fact that it can meld with D20 Modern material easily is just another huge plus in my book. It's great and a gem that I'll readily recommend to anyone.
In no particular order:
Darwin's World 2: This is everything that Gamma World D20 should have been.
Dawning Star: The best D20 Modern/Future setting on the market.
Menance Manual: One of the best creature/villain books out there.
Sidewinder Recoiled: Western gaming done right.

You can have a campaign full of complex plots, character interaction, drama out the wazoo without a tear being shed. I suspect there have a been a few tears shed at the various gaming tables of "hack n' slash" games throughout the years as well. It's not an instance where no tears = hack n slash.
Just FYI, our games haven't been simple "kill, loot, level, repeat" games for a long time. We have thrilling plotlines, intrigue, drama, and roleplaying. It's just that none of us get that attached. PC's and NPC's die all the time. It's part of the game. Some people just don't get...
Amen, brother!
I live about an hour and a half away from my group, so the price of gas is a big hurdle.
Other factors that hinder my playing time is my job and my unwillingness to game with strangers. My job keeps me on the road sometimes for weeks on end, so that shoots any regular play...
Eh. I don't like it when people cry at movies either. How do you console someone that does that? "There there now, it was only a movie." :\
I'm not trying to rail on anyone that does, but for me, I just can't understand how someone can get that emotionally involved in a game or a movie...
I'm interested in Vanguard, but my interest level in MMORPG's in general has waned. Not sure if I'll pick it up or not. I'm having fun rediscovering the Final Fantasy series from it's beginnings. :D
MVP 2005: Running through the 05 season as the Royals (complete re-draft of all the teams thankfully) in Owner Mode.
Started playing Final Fantasy 1 (again after many years), but my copy won't save so I guess I'm off to track down a PS2 and a copy of the FF Anthology. :(
Playing various SNES...
