    Die Rolls or Point-Buy

I use a 30 point buy. One stat must be an 18.

    RFC: Weapon Enhancement [Wicked]

Umm... I'd rather have 2d4 (double of 1d4) than 1d8. The average is higher.

    What makes stupidity fatal?

I was running my group through the old RPGA R series modules and had the following happen. *One of the modules has an endless graveyard that the players can find.* The players emerged from a crypt and looked around them. They were in a graveyard that stretched from horizon to horizon. Row...

    WOTC Store news

Are they heavily discounting the 3rd party stuff? I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks at their expense.

Who was publishing the *other* d20M Firearms book?

Agents of Gaming was going to publish the other book, but they've gone out of business. No new publisher has been announced.

    Getting rid of Cross-Class skills

I've seen two house rule systems for this. The first, simply count the number of class skills available to each class and instead allow the player to create their own class skill list based upon that number. This system will not work if you can't trust your players to pick skills that help to...

[WOTC] Core Rulebooks to be revised?

I'll buy all three unless there is something horribly wrong with them. I'm really hoping that they get the "Modern" treatment. I made my Knowlege: WotC check and avoided buying e-Tools. I feel sorry for you.

    Retrieving Scrolls and Quick Draw

Every melee character in my campaign has this feat. I haven't seen a melee character yet who hasn't, at some point, taken this feat.

    When Paladins Go Terribly Wrong

The problem with this discussion is that it is always the same. Some people want to use or introduce varying levels of good and evil, and other people don't. Good and evil in D&D has always been black and white. The rules do not support varying levels of evil. Someone a little bit evil is...

DMs: Do you ask players to contribute money for materials?

I don't charge my players. Each of them is expected, but not required, to buy a copy of the PHB. I have one spare copy and those players who do not have their own copy have to share it. Each player is required to buy their own dice and miniatures after a few sessions. If they want to run a...

DMs: Do you ask players to contribute money for materials?

Ouch! That's like having to pay for the bullet they use to execute you! ;)

    [WFRP] Hogshead Closes Doors

He just gave up and quit. I like the way that quitters use terms like 'burn out' to try and excuse the fact that they didn't have the ability to overcome whatever obstacle was in their way. I'm not impressed.

    Multiple 5ft steps?

The story is not a part of the game rules at all. With that in mind, there are no rules or house rules to govern it.

    Multiple 5ft steps?

In my game, the story is told AFTER the combat, not during. If a situation arises that cause retroactivity, that situation actually occured when it was supposed to, and the timeline is re-written to reflect that. The action becomes history rather than paradox. House rule vs. Interpretation...

    Multiple 5ft steps?

Well, I do have an excuse for omitting that originally! When your players are 19th to 21st level haste SEEMS like it is part of the core combat rules! ;)
