    D&D 5E (2014) What If 5E Becomes a Single-Edition-Pleaser?

There are still plenty of 4e books available from WotC and distributors. No reason to Chicken Little at this stage.

Pathfinder 1E is a big Pathfinder surge on the way?

That is in no way an accurate gauge - as people in both camps have stated. Not even close to being an empirical measure, plus any changes in buying habits would take far, far, far longer than 5 days to register. So, out of curiosity, are you going to make a balanced or even WotC-neutral thread...

Should swapping weapons cost actions? Is it worth tracking what is in your hands?

So there my character was, caught on deck during a sea battle as part of a Midnight campaign. He was a huge, hulking Dorn, fierce and proud - wielding his newly-found greataxe, which hinted to him of power. On his back was his shortbow, for he was a hunter for his tribe. Beside it, in a place...

Are Spell Recharge potions(items) the answer to Vancian spell exhaustion?

I'm guessing the answer would be whispered in a mumble whilst in a a darkened parking garage. If you think of spells that can be cast per day as a consumable resource, and you realize that hit points are a consumable resource with ready means of replenishing, it does make you wonder.

Are Spell Recharge potions(items) the answer to Vancian spell exhaustion?

Well, in 4e and Pathfinder, no spellcaster is ever truly out of spells. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to something of this sort of consumable item.

Default setting: should we really have one?

Take this from a Pathfinder DM and reformed Forgotten Realms lover - stick with the Points of Light concept. It's much, much, much, much easier to get into if you're new. Use generic gods and you're golden.

Do WotC people still post on ENWorld?

To a degree yes, but short of evidence it's just a conspiracy theory.

Should multiclassing be restricted by race?

No, it was one of the more terribad things to come out of 1e/2e. If anything, it should be a campaign option.

"'Kill it before it grows'...he said 'Kill it before it grows'..."

I'm with you, so long as the options for point-buy, hp, and the others are in the same book as the core options.

    Opt-in or Opt-out?

Given the stated design goals and the elements likely to bring in players of all stripes, I say Opt-in. Opt-out smells to much of telling us what is right and what is badwrongfun.

D&D 4E Did WOTC lie to 4e players about 5e?

It's advice, learn more about a subject before posting about it. As it is, in order for there to be $1000 4e books, then you'd need what, 40 books at $25 average (retail)?

D&D 4E Did WOTC lie to 4e players about 5e?

That was a bit of advice, since you're new here. It isn't a personal slam to point out that you are spending your credibility.

D&D 4E Did WOTC lie to 4e players about 5e?

Allegedly spent 1000 years on a product that he and his group derived 1 year of happiness from, not to mention future years that could be so engaged. Again, allegedly though. And no, you should probably put all of the unsubstantiated, unsupported, untenable conspiracy theories into one thread...

D&D 4E Did WOTC lie to 4e players about 5e?

And with that demise of your credibility, current and past, you might as well stop posting for a bit, become educated on the subject, and then resume when you are more knowledgeable about the situation.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E: A Danger of Fragmentation?

I don't think the Pathfinder people are long gone - gamers are gamers. And that video was laughable. The only thing sunk about 5th edition at this point is the constant whining and naysaying about it.

D&D 4E Did WOTC lie to 4e players about 5e?

You make a number of evidential assumptions that I wouldn't be so quick to make: 1) The gentleman in the video is telling the truth. Seriously, he loves 4e so much and is so hurt but the Pathfinder DM screen just happens to be prominent? 2) That he was repeatedly told 5e was not going to be a...

Do WotC people still post on ENWorld?

    Except when it isn't.

Are people underestimating the desire to "come home"?

Seems like more than a few people here are Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, RetroClone, etc. fans - and yet, they're here and posting.

    D&D 5E (2014) I think 5E needs less innovation.

I don't disagree with you. Heck, I haven't posted in that Lethality thread because at the end of the day, I don't even know what I want. All the same, I expect the designers to make it. :) That's why I honestly think that unlike 4e, success or failure of 5e is more dependent on realistic...
