    D&D 4E 4e The Village of Hommlet...giving it away

Wow, very nice of you. I have one and don't need another, but there sure is a spiffy two sided map in there of the moathouse on one side and an inn on the other that I use for lots of things. Plus the adventure was fun to play with friends... brought back lots of memories for me.

    Essentials - calling a spade a spade

I don't understand the importance of a version label. Is there a purpose to it? Does it matter? If my 4E PHB is still functional after Essentials comes out, and it's fully compatible with that product, I can't see how it's different than something like PHB2 or PHB3. If on the other hand, a...

    The D&D Boss Fight

I have taken solos and broken them up into several creatures, one for the body, one for the arms, one for the tail as an example. Each of those components has it's own initiative, hitpoints, attacks and moves... when they kill the tail, it can no longer attack (thus targetted attacking can be...

Favorite Post Apocalyptic d20 game or setting

I always liked this site: MUTANT BASTARDS! Edit: It's not d20, but it is something I am thinking of stealing ideas from as a setting for the new Gamma World when it comes out.

    Castle Ravenloft board game preview

Price is the by far the largest obstacle for myself as well, so you aren't the only "cheap-o" around.

D&D 4E Which of the Wizards 4e H-E adventure have you played or run?

Stopped a few sessions into P1, didn't like it much. I need to re-tool, but I have decided to look to my own, shorter stories instead.

You don't play 4E, but what did they get RIGHT?

Well, to be fair, there is a pile of stuff to track in 4E combats too. Front or back load, what's your preference?

You don't play 4E, but what did they get RIGHT?

I play both Pathfinder and 4E, so perhaps I should not comment because I don't fit the criteria. But here are things that pop into my head while playing Pathfinder (and these are things that people who love 3.x/pathfinder probably will not agree with me on): 1. No Iterative attacks. It really...

    Virtual Tabletop software?

I think that if you have the time, the frameworks are great but I tend to agree with Veg, it can get in the way of the fun. To speed your online games, we have found that video skype is amazing for the person who cannot make the event. While free for more than a person to person call right...

What does your ultimate gaming table look like?

I'd want a LCD panel with multitouch input laid flat and inset into the tabletop, with a sheet of clear lucite or similar over it to protect from spills and take wet/dry erase markers but still allow for interaction beneath. Comfortable chairs and a felt border around the LCD panel. I'd like a...

    My Sunday was spent...

Ha! That was my thought too. Such an ominous task it required some liquid courage to get it done? Personally, I am just going to pick up the rules compendium for travel, everything else I can just deal with by looking it up.

Looking for a Steampunk character name

Miss Bliss. Miss Cadence Bliss (since the name has to have a cadence to it). I feel like the name has an oxymoronic feel, which makes her all the more dangerous... sort of like a rose... beautiful to look at but watch for the thorns. Oooh, perhaps even Miss Rose Bliss.

New "Red Box" Starter Set hands-on preview

It's not my imagination and I am remembering correctly that the cards in the red box are smaller than Magic cards, right? Just curious if I will need to invest in new sleeves or not.

Gamma World Box Set Sneak Peak on I09.com

I don't understand your rationale. Something WoTC is producing that is random and optional for a game product WotC produces comes out, and that's what drives your decision not to purchase any 4E products? This isn't even D&D, and has nothing to do with the 4E products you had your eye on. Is...

    New previews!!!

The digest sized book will be great for the Rules Compendium. My overstuffed bag for gamedays can get a few pounds lighter (and really I only carry my 4E PHB for 4E games)... it's that Pathfinder book that weighs me down :)

Going back in time to play your novice days again

Oh my, I can still remember that feeling I got the first time I played D&D. I was playing a rogue, my brother a wizard, and we were sneaking into a crypt of some kind when skeletons rose up and attacked us. I had recently watched a Harryhausen flick (Sinbad perhaps?), so I had a vivid visual...

    Virtual Tabletop software?

And I have not looked lately, but I could sweat that Rumbles Maptool Framework takes a cut / paste from CB or MB, right? Someone tell me I am crazy but with any VTT, data entry for the campaign is the biggest chunk of time you spend no matter what... so a import from other forms is a boon.

    New previews!!!

Well, I reserve judgement for when I can feel tokens... the ones I saw in the red box seemed a bit thinner than the ones that come with Encounters for example.

    Of Harpies and Flying

Leaving a threatened square provokes, even if it's straight up (or down in the case of some burrowing creatures). The OA happens when the creature leaves the threatened square unless the harpy has a power that lets it escape somehow. The harpy can fly as high as it's move speed, and then...

Gamma World Box Set Sneak Peak on I09.com

The cards strike me as sort of like twitter buffs for the table. I don't mind them, they will very likely be completely optional.
