What do people play more of nowadays?

Mostly play 4E, and prefer it. My friend is running a pathfinder game, which I don't enjoy playing as much (probably because A. I can't study the entire book and absorb all the rules, so I am constantly nose in book with it, and B. I can't seem to budget my actions appropriately because I am so...

Someone is Bringing Pizza to the Game Tonight

Anchovies belong on a ceasar salad with some lemon juice, but not on a pizza (at least not on mine). I like anchovies, just not on my pizza.

Help me make WotC adventures better.

Bah, yeah, meant slaying stone, thanks.

Help me make WotC adventures better.

I can't help but think that a few of the improvments seen in the latest adventure could have come from here. Howling Stone has smaller maps on the pages, in non-linear, had some motivations and pecking orders, etc. If you are listening still, thank you!

    D&D Encounters - Season 2

We are a part of the same caravan... but got separated.

    D&D Encounters - Season 2

Having not played any earlier renditions of Dark Sun, it would be hard for me to compare. I will say it came off as a harsh world, full of desert, sandstorms (with baseball sized chunks of obsidian that kept hitting us), and creatures that would attack you if they thought you had something to...

    D&D on CNN!

To be fair, this is in the "Living" section of CNN, alongside such great articles as "Job hot spots for the next decade" and "People who look like their pets". Given that vein, it's not really news at all, but more like entertainment. The LA Times has a similar section that is full of human...

iPhone 4 opens up whole new possibilities for Dread

Wow, I wasn't aware you could read PDF on iPad. That's very cool. The iPhone is too small for pdf reading in my opinion.

iPhone 4 opens up whole new possibilities for Dread

That's not minor to me, that is a big selling point.

    Someone has MM3 at RPG.Net

You list Frog and Giant Frog separately, how menacing is the "Frog" versus the "Giant Frog"?

Newbie DM question: how much to reveal about the monsters?

One of the aspects of DMing I like most is describing the monsters physical appearance to the players. If they want to know things like role, or abilities, that's a skill check (See PHB page 180). Basically: Name, Type and Keywords is one, Powers is another, and Resistances and vulnerabilities...

Big Bang Theory and the Dungeon Master's Guide

Triple ditto... they really are doing a great job with that program. They really ought to do a D&D style episode: I would love to see them do it a la Dead Gentlemen's "The Gamers" series.

    D&D 5E (2014) What campaign is next?

Which is a big reason I would never take a bet like that :) I think it's going to be something non-fantasy. Marvel Superheroes type game perhaps? Boothill and Top Secret are possible too, with something like "Die Hard" type fluff for healing surges.

No more WotC Star Wars site

I have been picking up a box or two of minis when I want to buy something to support the local stores. I have the two book I really wanted from the sets (core rulebook and Clone Wars), don't need much else to play. Once the minis run out, watch those prices zoom up.

I didn't see that Amazon was actually taking preorders... there is no preorder button.

No more WotC Star Wars site

While I wish they would have renewed, the license must have been pretty pricey. WoTC could design their own generic space game that players could easily reskin. Wasn't there something in the TSR days that was like that?

    limited edition Orcus figure

I just had an idea for the Orcus megafig. A raffle for charity. Something like that would probably generate a healthy sale of tickets. Hmmm... gears turning (how to get the FLGS to bite on this)

    limited edition Orcus figure

I expect these will be stupidly expensive after market. Personally, I don't need a demonic figurine in my house but I believe my FLGS has one coming in. It will be interesting to see if it sells or not.

    Dark Sun D&D Encounters Characters

Just a thought here, but how do you know these are errors and not design elements? There is no source book for the product yet. I bet any errors will probably get fixed in the level 2 bump.
