    Encounters with the "Living"

Ah, I am guilty of not reading the entire thread before responding. My apologies, your initial post made no reference to anything specific, so I was only letting you know of my experience with a similar issue. I would hope that the organizers, if made aware of the situation, would take steps...

    Encounters with the "Living"

It could also be a misinterpretation of what is being said. Without proof it's very hard to prove that it's happening. We had someone at our local meetup claim that someone was directing players away from his non-organized play game over to a organized play table. I don't have first hand...

    Wizards.com/dnd website down

Works just fine for me, has all weekend. Using Chrome, IE or Firefox, all three are fine.

    Kill the Messengers... Thanks WotC!

While the poster maps are nice to have, they aren't essential, because they are all made from Dungeon Tiles and can be reproduced using those (in fact, I usually do that anyhow).

    WoD MMORPG Trailer

So aside from the bewb in the picture, I saw nothing interesting. It's not telling me much about the game other than it's about vampires in a modern setting. No gameplay demo, no graphics demo, no indication that it's even a MMORPG. Probably something I'll skip but twilight lovers everywhere...

    Maps for Gamma World

Well, if you can get a hold of the map that came with the Gamma World gameday, it has a two lane highway littered with rusting cars, a parking garage filled with rusting cars, and a scientific looking laborotory with laser guns and a restroom. It's kinda pricey on Ebay however. :(

    A Taco Monster!

Titos is one of those places I tend to avoid (fried shell) :) But folks at work go bonkers for that place.

    Kill the Messengers... Thanks WotC!

The adventure is the reward for the DM to get for taking (a lot) of his or her personal time to show up every week and DM encounters. Yeah yeah, supposed to do it for the fun of the game but I got to tell you, after DMing Seasons 1 and 2, was ready to take a break and be a player... until I saw...

What are you doing to keep the hobby alive?

Kevin, the question was what are you doing to keep the hobby alive, not scare women and children away! :) I had this crazy thought, based on something my wife does. When she walks my older son to the bus stop in the morning, she brings along a childrens book (usually scooby doo) and reads it...

    Tacos

My wife reminded me of these when we were discussing that you can put anything in a taco: Also made of awesome, but technically not a taco at all :)

DDI "Web Tools Suite" (rampant speculation)

I seem to recall that Character Vault was one of the "features" of the DDI initiative in the beginning. It's not something I would use unless they had an iphone app to access it. The day DDI becomes mandatory to play is the day I stop paying for it (and I know I am not alone, and WoTC probably...

Ashes of Athas, a new shared world Darksun campaign from Wizards

Wow, not very excited about that. This is what they are busy killing LFR for? Sigh, well, there is always PFS for me personally, and perhaps there will be enough interest in it from my meetup to get it going.

    Tacos

It's all in how you eat your tacos. I find I never have anything to waste, and no problem controlling my toppings, but then I grew up eating real tacos. Rumor has it that hard shell tacos were invented by Taco Bell to expedite prep time, but I don't think so. Tacos, like American BBQ, is a...

    Tacos

No self respecting taco has a crunchy shell! Little corn tortillas topped with that pork, some onions, cilantro, hot sauce. These be the types of tacos I eat (and was thinking of): Mmmm, might need to pick up some tacos tomorrow night.

    How big are regulation dice?

I use dinky dice that came with the Star Wars card game for marking stuff on the table, and humungo 20 siders. There is no "regulation size" that I am aware of.

Yah, realized that right after I hit post. Thanks for moving it.

    Tacos

I wanted to comment in the now closed thread when the topic of Tacos came up, so I decided to start a new one (only this one really is about Tacos) I think they might actually be THE perfect gaming food, and here are my reasons why: 1. They aren't greasy like potato chips or pizza slices 2...

    Crayola Dry Erase Crayons FTW!

I usually use wet erase, and my two big gripes with those are having blue fingers the next day and ink sometimes flowing out the end of the pen with fervor. I will have to get some of these to try out.

    Monster Initiative

If I am pen and paper strictly, I use one per stat block. If I have my laptop with me, I would roll once per monster (within reason -- too many monsters makes this tedious)

    DM Question Time

I used it as a plot device to get the party into finding out more about the thieves guild. More than just coin was taken, a relic they needed to find out more about was taken too. They didn't like it but they got the stuff back by the next level, and not all the coin was taken, just a...
