Your favorite gaming discussion topic on this message board?

I chose High vs. Low Magic. But my favorites are off-list. -How do I price XYZ? -Polymorph revisions (Mine is simple: become the creature, completely (but not in terms of identity)) -Good vampires (there is no such thing!)

What ratio of published adventures to homebrew adventures do you run?

I have grown lazy in my later years, allowing work, faith-based service, yard work, soccer, marriage and my children occupy more of my time. My last campaign was "my story" with every adventure within the story published by someone else. It worked great. Of course, my story allowed for very...

    How many times...?

Then he is just like every other evil-in-a-pretty-wrapper individual. Good simply will not willingly do evil. Evil does not feel so compelled to avoid doing good.

Non-Core Class Survivor: Round 5 (The top 20)

I continue to vote in favor of removing the abominations that are derived from the unspeakable Magic of Incarnum.

At what level do you start your campaigns?

I have always started campaigns at level one. This level lays the foundation for PC attitudes, personalities, and quirks. It also makes the early level Feat, Skill and ability choices matter.

    Non-Core Class Survivor: Round 4

I wish we could vote for more than one at a time. I want to see both Magic of Incarnum classes go at once. And at this pace, I have to wait for far too many rounds to get rid of the Incarnum-ites and Psionicals. :D

    How many times...?

How you respond when you feel threatened is a good indication of where your moral compass points.

    How many times...?

Your alignment is not "whatever you say it is". Your alignment is a reflection of your behavior, attitudes, and world views. If your character believes that burning someone's face off is an appropriate response to getting irritated, then your character is not "becoming evil from the one act"...

    Non-Core Class Survivor: Round 2

My vote went to anything Incarnum. Get rid of all three classes from that book, and we can keep that book out of the room too!

I've given up on WotC's message boards. What about you?

The novels issue is a legal matter, not a Moderator decision.

I've given up on WotC's message boards. What about you?

This will come as no surprise to most, but I am a regular and frequent poster on the WotC Boards. I am also a fan of the company, its product, and its employees. I can easily see how someone might view me in the light some on this thread have used to describe WotC posters. However... I also...

The "measure of challenge" rule in AD&D1

I voted sort of. We did not use any direct formula. We just assumed a generic % multiplier based on the DM's assessment -- usually 5-10%.

Telling a Story vs. Having Fun

Any game is *about* having fun. RPGs accomplish this through a story.

What scale of changes and changes themselves would you find acceptable?

Major Class Approach Change Switch to four classes (template bases): Warrior - Priest - Mage - Rogue Let everything else be a combination of special abilities, feats, skills and roleplay.

Do Personal Opinions Of Authors, Etc Dissuade You From Purchases?

As written in the poll, and as explained in the opening post, I can't say I've ever heard much of a personal opinion from an author or company. The closest was after the mass lay-offs over at WotC and a few of the departed burned their bridges behind them. But I wouldn't consider that personal...

Do Adjustments To Core RAW Often Meet With Resistance In Your RPGing Group?

I run a "core only" game. By "core only" I mean that the only books you *know* are accepted are the core PHB / DMG. However, this does not nmean the ruleset is static. It means no supplement, article, WotC or third-party accessory is accepted as "active" without a case-by-case review...

How would you like to see a PDF version of Dragon/Dungeon

For Dragon, I want a print copy only. It is reference material and reading material to me. For Dungeon, I would much prefer a PDF copy. I do far too much with my adventures, and a text-friendly PDF version of Dungeon would make it all possible. Further, all the side articles (the...

Do You Prefer to Play a Human PC When RPGing?

I play a human in real life. I don't feel a need to do so in my RPG when there are other options.

Is it time for a low-magic setting?

big dummy, Next time you want opinions from us, I think you need to tell us the opinion you want us to regurgitate, 'cause judging from your replies to the posts in this thread, you don't care what people think -- you're looking for a specific answer. It appears we aren't the right group of...

Is it time for a low-magic setting?

Good Luck Good luck interpretting the results. It would have been better to have three choices: Yes. I want one. No. I oppose it. Don't care. I won't buy it, but have no need to object. I voted "Yes, but..." because I would have replied in a more abbreviated poll: "Don't care. I won't buy...
