Book of Erotic Fantasy previewed at GenCon

I eagerly await my copy of the preview (I wasn't able to go to GenCon so someone picked one up for me). Based on what I've seen of the previews of both text and images at the Valar web site (http://www.valarproject.com) it should be highly enjoyable. I know that even Anthony Valterra himself...

    WotC boards (slighty ranty...)

I visit the WotC boards almost every day, generally posting only in the Mature Product Line threads but sometimes in the FR threads. Personally, I don't think the mods over there get involved often enough. There are arguments...stupid, stupid, bitter, arguments...that will often rage for days...

Author (and artist) of The Book of Erotic Fantasy

This thread is almost two months old and I think eveyone knows by now that WotC is NOT involved with the Book of Erotic Fantasy. hunter1828

[OT] I Graduated HS today! YAY!

Angcuru, Congrats on the graduation! And if I may also add a little advice concering career choices and history majors...consider the National Park Service. Good historians and interpreters are a dying breed in the NPS, plus it pays better than teaching! :) hunter1828

How often do you game/How much is too much?

Usually two or three times per month. During the summer months our schedules are all screwed up and we are lucky to play once per month then. Years and years ago, my first gaming group would sometimes play twice per week in the summer months but then drop to once per week in the winter...

    Flying off the shelves!

Dude, your stealing my idea! :) Seriously, I have always thought that that is how I would run a FLGS if I could open one (something my wife and I are actually dreaming of doing someday, since there isn't a good one for several hours drive). hunter1828

    Flying off the shelves!

In all this discussion of "small, friendly, local business is better than large, impersonal, discount business" I'm left wondering how many people remember, or even realize, that even Wal-Mart was a "small, friendly, local business" at one time, struggling to stay in the black? hunter1828

    Flying off the shelves!

But do they offer the same discounts, the same service, and the same super fast delivery? I have ordered from several online game stores in years past and NEVER recieved the same item for the same value for the same quality service as I get from Amazon. Well, actually...Amazon only posted a...

    Flying off the shelves!

I'd gladly buy my stuff at a FLGS if: 1) someone would open one here in town. The closest one to me right now is two hours away. The closest GOOD one is six hours away. 2) the FLGS offered the same discounts as Amazon. It's my money, and danged if I'll pay more somewhere just to support...

Gamers who want to date gamers

I'm really glad my wife is a gamer, it gives us one more thing to share. Common interests for us include: gaming, comic books, fantasy fiction, historical reenacting, politics, movies, football, NASCAR, travel, shopping. Just to name a few. We do, of course, have interests that the other...

    Why Half-Elves???

Ok, I've seen comments like these here and on other boards as well. AND I JUST DON'T GET IT! Lidda's a freakin' adult! She's got freakin' boobs! She looks nothing like a kid (at least no kids I've ever seen)! hunter1828

"Party Funds" -- yay or nay?

In my primary game the party splits coins & gems/jewelry evenly, with any odd remainder going into the "beer fund", as they call it. After several game years of adventuring they have rather a lot in the "beer fund" and are wondering whether or not they should split it up. One poster (don't...

    High Charisma=Obsessed with sex?

Actually, I have to correct myself. I have experienced a game where sex/romance when horribly awry. I just remembered a time many years ago at a con where I played in a pick-up game of AD&D. The DM had us introduce our characters and state a little personality bit. The guy to my left said...

    High Charisma=Obsessed with sex?

I have to agree with drnuncheon on this. I'm not saying "you're just wrong, man!" or anything of the sort. I'm just saying that in my 20+ years of gaming I have never seen such things go wrong or bad, and romance has played a HUGE part in many of the games, both D&D and Star Wars, that I've...

    High Charisma=Obsessed with sex?

In my primary campaign I have three NPCs with levels in bard (didn't plan it that way...it just happened), two are male and one is female. None are obsessed with sex, in fact one of the males is actually quite shy around females and the female bard has a long-term monogomous relationship with...

    High Charisma=Obsessed with sex?

I honestly don't remember...dammit.... but even with a higher Charisma as a prereq, it wasn't as overtly necessary to the spells, skills and powers of the bard...at least, IMO. hunter1828

    High Charisma=Obsessed with sex?

That they do. I have seen bards, both male and female, played that way. But that was back in 1st and 2nd edition, when Charisma didn't really mean as much to the bard class as it does now, and even low Charisma bards were played that way. And to Eric: You have a point there about guys...
